Mr Abaza is Zulficar & Partners new partner mainly specialized in Mergers, Acquisitions and Capital Market matters. Mr Abaza was formerly the Legal Counsel of Qalaa Holdings S.A.E. handling the Group exit transactions in several sectors, as well as the Group Companies restructuring and the debt refinancing arrangements. Prior to that, Mr Abaza worked as Senior Associate at Zaki Hashem and Partners, Attorneys at Law, handling the major mergers and acquisitions transactions for the firm. Mr Abaza has extensive expertise in drafting and negotiating all types of transaction documentation and has been the leading lawyer and team member on several major transactions. This includes, without limitation, the acquisition of Olympic Group, the sale of El Nakhla S.A.E. to Japan Tobacco International, the sale of Sphinx Glass S.A.E., the sale of Misr Glass Manufacturing, the sale of NSGB to QNB, the sale of Barclays to AWB and several other key transactions as noted below. Mr Abaza also has wide experience in capital market regulations and procedures in Egypt and in respect of major stock exchanges and has worked on several major transactions including IPOs, MTOs and GDR offerings and buybacks.
