Can I close my UAE fixed deposit remotely with a POA if I can't travel?
Q: Hello, I am outside the UAE and canceled my UAE residency 2 years ago. I have an ENBD account with a fixed deposit of 10,000 AED and a credit card linked to that fixed deposit. Both were suspended a few months ago due to not having residency in the UAE. I want to close the fixed deposit because I need the money now, but I cannot travel to the UAE at the moment. If I give someone (or a lawyer) power of attorney, can they go to the bank branch and close the fixed deposit for me? I have no cases against me, no outstanding loans, and the credit card balance is fully paid. The bank informed me that I must first close the credit card, then wait 45 days before closing the fixed deposit in person at the branch. However, I cannot go to the UAE for the next 6 months. How much would the process cost if I do a POA and hire a lawyer?

Q: Hello Lawyers, I had a case before way back in 2019 for alcohol and served jail for 2 months. I want to get police clearance to immigrate to another country purpose. Is it safe to withdraw an appeal in my favor as requested by the bank to reach a settlement with them?
Q: Salam, I have a genuine request to everyone, please reply for the sake of humanity. I had borrowed a personal loan from the bank in 2017 which I could not pay at a later stage. A police criminal case was filed against me and I paid the fine. Years later, a civil case was also filed thus the travel ban. I somehow requested the bank to look into the matter, and they did not give me any discount but gave me installments to pay. I paid a 45k down payment against the outstanding of 115k and now I am paying 3k every month. On the 31st of December, we received the court verdict which was in my favor. Now the bank is insisting on me to withdraw the appeal as per my understanding after signing the agreement and they were supposed to withdraw the case against me. Now they are forcing me to take back the appeal since I am eligible for the court fee refund. If I withdraw the appeal, I will lose my money. Kindly advise what I should do. The bank is threatening to put a travel ban on me.2025/01/07

I could not pay two credit cards in the UAE . Can the bank proceed with legal action in my country?
Q: I have two credit cards in the UAE with the amount of 30,000 and 15,000 but due to a bad financial situation, I am unable to pay them back. Then I decided to move back to Pakistan to avoid legal action. I still haven`t found any solution to pay them back because of my bad financial situation. Can the employer force me to take my unused leave days during my notice period?
Q: I was terminated on 6 Dec, and placed on gardening leave from 13th Dec. I have 18 days of unused leave and my employer is telling me to take the leave during the gardening period.
