Am I entitled to an air ticket to my country for vacation if it is not mentioned in my contract?
Hello,
Currently, I am working as an employee in a free zone company, and I have been working for two years.
Now I want to go to my country on vacation because my vacation time has come, and I want to know whether I will get a two-year return ticket to go to my country or not.
My company is under a free zone, I would like to know if I am entitled to it, even though it is not mentioned in my contract letter.
Dear Questioner,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Under UAE Labour Law, and specifically within free zone authorities, entitlements such as a return air ticket after a certain period of service (e.g., every 2 years) are not mandatory by law unless explicitly stated in your employment contract or company policy.
Since you mentioned that your contract does not specify any entitlement to a return ticket, the company is not legally obliged to provide one.
However, some companies voluntarily offer this as part of their internal benefits, so we recommend reviewing any employee handbook or HR policy documents your company may have issued.
You may also directly check with your HR department for clarification based on company practices.
If you require further legal assistance or support in reviewing your employment contract, we are happy to assist.
