What happens after winning a compensation case against a landlord?
Q: Hello, I have won a compensation case against my ex-landlord in Dubai because he re-rented the property after giving me notice that he was selling. I have two questions: 1. By issuing an execution/enforcement order, does that mean he won`t be able to re-rent or sell any of his other properties until he pays the compensation? 2. UAE gratuity for domestic workers: Is it still applicable?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to know whether we are required to pay gratuity to domestic workers under the latest law. If so, from which year, as we have a few domestic workers who have been working for my boss for more than 20 years? However, I came across the following news article: End of Service Gratuity for domestic workers in the U.A.E. has been amended, by virtue of the new law governing domestic workers, which came into effect in December of 2022. The new law, U.A.E. Federal Decree-Law No. 9 of 2022 on Domestic Workers, canceled the previous law, U.A.E. Federal Law No. 10 of 2017 on Domestic Workers. Unlike the earlier law, the new law does not set out specific entitlement to the end-of-service gratuity. This decision was further clarified by the Cabinet Resolution No. 106 of 2022 re: Domestic Employees, which was issued in January 2023. Can a school give parents the personal mobile numbers of teachers?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I am a teacher at a school in Dubai. Can my employer, the school, provide my personal mobile number to parents? I am employed by the school, and the school has my phone number. But the school is forcing teachers to provide our personal numbers to ALL parents. The parents are provided with teachers` school email addresses and educational platforms to message the teachers with any questions, but because the parents are lazy to email or learn how to use the platforms for messaging, the school is forcing us to provide our mobile numbers to parents. Is it legally allowed for the school to force teachers to provide their personal phone numbers to ALL parents, who do not respect the teachers` privacy and message/call at non-working hours? And then the school expects teachers to respond during non-working hours and weekends. MOST teachers do not want to provide their personal phone numbers. هل يمكنني رفع دعوى قضائية ضد مالك العقار للموافقة على زيادة الإيجار؟
س: مرحبًا، 1. طلب المالك زيادة الإيجار بنسبة 10% عند التجديد. 2. لا تسمح حاسبة هيئة التنظيم العقاري (RERA) بالزيادة. 3. قمنا بتقديم عرض وإيداع. 4. صدر الحكم لصالحنا مع التجديد بأسعار الإيجار الحالية. 5. أجرى المالك تقييمًا للإيجار ورفع دعوى قضائية ضدنا. 6. صدر حكم، وربح المالك القضية وحصل على زيادة بنسبة 10%، وعلينا دفع أتعابه، إلخ. هل هناك جدوى من استئناف هذا القرار؟ أي ربما بناءً على العرض والإيداع اللذين قُدّما لصالحنا للتجديد بالأسعار الحالية (ويمكننا القول إننا التزمنا بالإرشادات، لكننا الآن نُعاقب بهذا لأن المالك حصل على شهادة تقييم إيجار). شكرًا لك
