Q: Respected member, I have a 2-year-old case where I was convicted (I completed a sentence of 1 month in prison for a 1st-degree misdemeanor; breach of trust). I am now in the process of getting a rehabilitation certificate from Dubai. I have a new job offer in Abu Dhabi, and HR will ask me to obtain a police clearance certificate from the MOI. Will the UAE travel ban affect you across all GCC Countries starting from January 2025?
Q: Hello, I`m seeking legal advice on behalf of a friend who has outstanding personal and business loans in the UAE that have been overdue since 2015. He is currently outside the UAE and there are indications that legal action—including a travel ban—might have been taken against him. He has renewed his passport and now holds a new one. I have two main concerns: 1. Travel to Other GCC Countries: - Can he travel to other GCC countries, such as Qatar, without facing arrest at immigration due to his unpaid UAE loans? - I have heard that starting from January 2025, the Immigration Systems will be linked across all GCC Countries. Will that affect him? 2. Re-entry into the UAE: - Is it possible for him to obtain a visa and re-enter the UAE? - If he enters the UAE, would he risk arrest, or is there a legal pathway that would allow him to settle his debts through installments or other means? - Can the existing cases be resolved in a manner that permits legal re-entry? How can I reach a settlement with the bank if I left the UAE with an unpaid personal loan?
Q: I have a personal loan of AED 98,000. My visa has already been canceled. Any advice on how I can pay the bank on EMI? I will keep on coming back to the UAE every 6 months. Can I now pay my loan in that 6-month span? I already had a default case before due to the COVID-19 pandemic and I don`t want that nightmare to happen again. Can I return to the UAE after an outpass and unpaid fine?
Q: Hello, I had an absconding case, which was later removed. While canceling the visa with my previous employer, who had placed the absconding case, the immigration department informed me that I had a fine of 12,000 AED, and the visa would be canceled once I paid the fine. I didn’t have the money, so they said I could either take an outpass and be banned from the country or pay the fine. I chose the outpass. Now I want to return to the UAE. Is there any way I can come back, and do I still need to pay the fine?

Can I reopen a rental case against my tenant after the appeal judgment if it was not in my favor?
Q: Hello I currently have an ongoing case for the non-payment of rent against my tenant. The initial judgment was in my favor but the tenant appealed the decision. However, the tenant uploaded the documents after the session had begun and I was not able to view the documents. The judgment is now postponed but there are fallacies in the documents uploaded by the tenant that I would like to submit in my memorandum to the RDC. I would like to know if there is any way to contact the RDC to upload my memorandum as it is crucial to the case.
