Q: Hello, I hope I get the answer. I emailed my company a resignation letter during my probation period. As per my contract, my notice period is three months. However, due to depression, I only served one month. In June, I had absences from work and they told me to stop working and sign the cancellation papers. In April 2023, I served the tenant with an eviction notice due to my plan to sell, which means he has until April 2024 to leave the apartment. The contract stipulates that he is liable for two months` rent for early termination. The tenant has informed me that he wishes to leave immediately and is demanding a refund of rent paid for the entire remaining period of the contract. Which date does the tenant vacate: lease end or notice date?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I bought a property that was transferred to my name a few days ago. The previous owner had served a legal notice to vacate (reason: sale) and renewed the lease agreement for 9 more months three months after serving the notice, to align with the notice to vacate. After the transfer, I was able to access Ejari via the Dubai Rest app and saw that Ejari was renewed for 12 months instead of 9 months. Does this mean that the tenant has the right to stay until the end of the Ejari date or the date on the legal notice and lease agreement? FYI: The date on the notice served via the Dubai Court is January 31, 2024. The lease agreement is January 31, 2024, but Ejari is April 30, 2024. Can the employer hold my dues and sue me for deleting work Whatsapp from my phone?
Q: Hello, A friend of mine is currently facing a situation with her employer for which I would really appreciate some advice. My friend basically gave her resignation papers. While serving her notice period, the company took away her company SIM card, Email access, files access, etc. after which my friend deleted WhatsApp from her phone. It contained company information and clients so she didn`t want to have that WhatsApp on her personal phone since she`s no longer supposed to have access to anything at this point. After deleting WhatsApp, the company is now making all sorts of allegations and they`re holding her pay and passport. They even raised a MOHRE complaint against her for 5 different claims one of which is damaging property and some stuff like that. Now, they are basically telling her to give them back all that WhatsApp information then she can go, otherwise, they will sue her in court.
