Can children of an absconded UAE citizen claim financial support in the UAE?
Q: Hello, My father is a UAE citizen and my mother is British. I live in the UK with my mother and brother, as my father absconded when we were young. He has always refused to pay towards our care and does not respond to our attempts to contact him. His name and signature are on our British birth certificates, and my mother has a nikkah marriage certificate that was obtained in the UK. Please could you advise if we have any rights in the UAE as his children? We have been told that we could travel to Abu Dhabi to open a case against him in court, however, this is not financially an option for us. أسئلة وأجوبة

Q: My family and I had an accident. The incident occurred the very next day of their arrival in the UAE on a residence entry permit and their visa//health insurance was still in process. With gods grace, everyone was discharged from the hospital on the 3rd day after many tests and keeping us under observation. We were slapped with a hefty bill as my family was not holding any health insurance. هل يسقط الحكم الغيابي بمرور الزمن؟
س: السلام عليكم، لدي حكم ضدي بسبب إصدار شيك بدون رصيد (سنتان حبس مع بطاقة جلب محليًا ودوليًا) صدر في سنة 2016. اعترضت وقدمت ما يفيد الخلاص الجزئي، المبلغ 450000 درهم دفعت منهم 435000 درهم، لكن لم أستطع الحضور في الاعتراض وتم الحكم كأن الاعتراض لم يكن. المستفيد من الشيك استغل وجودي خارج الإمارات ورفع دعوى شيك بدون رصيد رغم أني كنت أدفع له لخلاص جزئي ولدي إيصالات تفيد ذلك قدمهم المحامي في قضية الاعتراض لكن خفت من الحضور. سؤالي: هل يسقط الحكم الغيابي بمرور الزمن؟ ومتى؟ الحكم الغيابي في 2016 والاعتراض في 2016. شكرًا! أسئلة وأجوبة

I won the case against my ex-employer based on a lower salary. Should I appeal?
Q: Dear all, I have just won my case against my former employer. However, the salary the court used for the calculations of my arrears is the one mentioned in the labor contract (46000 per month) instead of the actual salary paid out via WPS (55200). I hired one of the best law firms here, and we submitted salary slips, bank statements with credits, and a salary certificate with 55200 as the salary. However, the judge used 46000 to calculate the payout. Now, I have the option to appeal. But the difference is barely 20000 and from what I have heard, the appeal could take 2-3 months more. What happens if you get arrested after receiving an international transfer of funds?
Q: My friend has been arrested by Sharjah CID for funds received from an international transfer which he has no knowledge of how he received. He has been in jail for the past 2 weeks. Even police asked 2 of his office workers to visit and visited their residence and took the laptops and other documents. Then they took hold of passports and other items they collect during the raid of these guys and let them go. What will happen next? How does he proceed? Kindly help us to get some knowledge about this.
