Can an intimation memo claim ILOE benefits if a company terminates contracts due to financial issues?
Q: Dear Lawyers, I have just completed one year with a private company in Abu Dhabi. I am on a two-year contract, but the company is not doing well and has informed employees that our employment will be terminated due to its financial situation. What is the difference between intimation and termination of a contract under UAE law? Can an intimation memo be filed to receive the ILOE insurance benefit? Thank you!

Do daughters have the right to know information about a business fully inherited by mother from father?
Q: Dear Lawyers, My deceased father owned a business in the UAE. He has a will stating that all property and the ongoing business go to my mother after him. My brother is part of the business, and my mother stays with him. I want to know, as per UAE law: 1. Do married daughters have any rights to be informed about the business`s health? 2. Can married daughters claim any share or role in decision-making for the business, given that the will states that after my mother, the inheritance will be equally shared among siblings?

Will my wife's UAE visa renewal be affected after divorce if her husband hasn't canceled it yet?
Q: Dear Lawyers, My friend and her husband recently went through a divorce in Dubai Courts. However, her husband didn’t cancel her visa and proceeded with the renewal, agreeing to her pleas to stay longer in the UAE. He assured her he would only cancel her visa once she secures a new sponsor or job. She has completed her Emirates ID and medical test typing as of now. Is there a chance the visa renewal will be revoked or rejected, or will it proceed automatically since no divorce papers have been issued or applied after the court judgment? Thank you!

How can I split joint property with my ex-wife and sell my share?
Q: Assalamu Alaikum My ex-wife and I live in Canada. We co-own a property in Dubai. I own 75% of a property and my ex-wife owns 25%. I want to sell my share of the property. She refers me to her lawyer in Canada who doesn`t practice law in Dubai. I don`t want to spend extra fees when corresponding with her counsel in Canada. Should I go to Dubai court and force her to buy my share or sell hers?

How to enforce a judgment agaisnt a debtor who fled the country to get the outstanding payment?
Q: Reference to the defendant`s non-payment of execution writ. Seven years ago I won a case and the court obliged the defendant to pay. At the time, the court failed to approve the arrest warrant and the defendant ran away. Now, all the necessary requests are approved in the system but the court is unable to find the defendant. What are my rights in this situation to get the outstanding payment either from the defendant or his family and friends?

Should I send a new bilingual notice or stick with the original Arabic one to prevent a tenant's appeal?
Q: Hello all, I sent a legal notice to a tenant for non-payment and eviction (nationality: Bangladeshi). The notary sent the notice in Arabic. Now someone has informed me that if I file a case, the tenant may appeal, claiming he didn’t understand the notice because it was in Arabic, which could lead to me losing the case. So I may need to send a new notice in both English and Arabic, despite the tenant subletting the property and giving POA to an Egyptian individual who understands the law well. I went to Tasheel today, and they advised that even if the notice is in Arabic, the tenant will lose the appeal if he doesn`t pay, or even if we lose the appeal, he will still have to pay all due rent. It’s now very confusing whether I should send a new notice in both Arabic and English or proceed with the same notice and file the case.+6

Q: I am the owner of a tour operator company in Dubai that provides chauffeur services to our clients. I am seeking guidance on the legal requirements for hiring chauffeurs who already possess valid visas, as I do not intend to provide visas myself. Specifically, I would like to know which documents I must prepare to comply with UAE law, aside from a contractual agreement. Is it necessary to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the company that issued their current visa? Additionally, should the contract explicitly state that they are third-party contractors with my company? What else should be included in the contractual agreement? One of the driver’s CVs states that he has a partner visa. What law would apply in this scenario? Your expertise on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Q: My employer revoked my labor card on 10-10-2024. I found out once I tried to log in through my UAE pass what my legal status was. Does it affect my legal status or Emirates ID? Q: Dear Lawyers, I am in discussions with a manufacturer in China to become their distributor in the UAE. Should I raise a case for child custody if my ex-wife is alcoholic and left us alone?
Q: A police complaint was filed for physical assault and alcohol abuse. The wife left home without the child and later was interviewed by social support. The wife was guilty after admitting the truth and gave a written statement to visit a psychiatrist and take therapy. She didn`t adhere to the agreement. Followed by a court case, divorce was granted to the husband based on infidelity, neglect, alcohol abuse, failure in maternal duties, verbal abuse, and misuse of social media under article 7 of federal law 41 of 2022, and the wife was obligated to pay expenses and fees under Article 133 of the Civil Procedures Code. The child has been physically with the husband since October 2023 and the entire expenses and well-being are taken care of by the husband. The ex-wife irregularly visits the child, doesn`t provide personal or financial support, forces the husband to give the child a passport and doesn`t want to raise it with the court, and continues to distress claiming that she has not given custody of the child. Should I raise a case for proof of custody or child custody?
