Can I close my LLC company and pay off all my debts and liabilities if the the license is expired?
Q: Good Morning, I want to close my company (an LLC located in Sharjah) and leave. I have personal and company liabilities which I plan to settle before I leave. My company license ended in December 2024. Can I pay off personal debts and company liabilities without renewing the company license (including renewal of tenancy contract) in the next 2 to 3 months? I want to avoid license renewal fees and tenancy contract associated costs since I am anyways planning to leave. Is that possible? If so, how much time do I have? Thanks for your advice.

Can I resign as a domestic helper and cancel my visa at the agency without paying the hiring costs?
Q: I have been working for an expat family for four months but I work mostly 15 hours a day. I want to resign here but if I resign and work outside, they`ll send me back to the agency and my agency would want me to pay 9 thousand dirhams as payment for what was paid by the agent. Can a collection agency file a case against a debtor in home country on behlaf of a UAE bank?
Q: Dear Lawyers, I`m seeking your valuable advice as per the UAE Law for the below inquiry. One of my close friends had taken a personal loan of AED 250k in the UAE and was paying EMI amounts regularly. Later, he was terminated by his company due to some issues and returned to his home country. A debt collection agency contacts him every day and gives more threats even though he has agreed to pay back the amounts after getting a new job. It has been 1 year and until now he did not get any good job and is unable to pay back the amount. However, the debt collection agency contacts him every day at least 3 times and threatens him with a criminal case against him, and that they will send him to jail and many more things. Now the inquiry is generally, if anyone is unable to pay back the outstanding EMI loan amount due to job loss, can the debt collection agency file a case against him or an arrest warrant, etc in their home country? Can we make a case against the debt collection agency for their outrageous behavior?

Lost eviction case due to lawyer’s mistake. Can I appeal with the correct reason and documents?
Q: Dear Lawyers, I filed a case against my tenant after issuing a 12-month eviction notice. The lawyer I hired to handle the case did not pay attention to what I told him, causing me to lose the case. I informed him that the reason for the eviction was to move in, but he filed the case stating the reason was to sell. Since there were no supporting documents, I lost the case. If I appeal, what documents will be necessary? Can I file another case using the eviction reason of moving in?

A company in the UAE failed to provide the service we paid for. How can we refund our money?
Q: We are a UK-based company that paid for a UAE agency to complete a photoshoot for us. Some time passed as we were struggling to schedule a shoot in our schedule. They also delayed the matter due to a lack of availability for them. They promised us a shoot by November but then stopped responding to us. We threatened legal action and now they are only offering a refund of approximately 18%. Please could you advise me on how to move forward as they have cheated us?

Can I refuse to leave the apartment after the eviction notice if the landlord shows no intention to sell?
Q: I am reposting the question as maybe I was not clear the first time. I am a tenant in an apartment in Dubai. I stayed in the apartment for a long time. I received a valid 12-month notice from the landlord to vacate the property because they want to sell it. However, 9 months have passed since and the landlord has shown no intention of selling. I asked them about it and they said they intend to renovate it first before selling it. As I do not want to move out, can I dispute this at the RDC in any way? Meaning, do I have any basis for dispute?+4

Will I be arrested in my country if I paid the first installment for a bank loan settlement in the UAE then stopped?
Q: Hello Legal Advice, I had a loan amount of AED 240K and after paying some installments, the amount came down to AED 170K. I got laid off from my job in the UAE due to company acquisitions, and now I am jobless in India. After discussions with my bank, they sent a settlement letter for AED 150K and I paid AED 25K as a downpayment by selling gold and borrowing money from my friends. Now I cannot pay the remaining amount because of being jobless and I am the sole breadwinner. My query is will there be any legal problem if I don`t pay the remaining amount after signing the settlement letter? Will case execution be implemented in India also? A civil case for a bounced cheque that I did not sign was filed against me by the bank. What to do?
Q: I require legal advice regarding a case related to a cheque bounce. In 2023, a civil case was filed against me due to a bounced cheque. This morning, I submitted a request to the court to convert the case into easy installments, even though I did not have the case documents, as I owed a limit of AED 15,000 on my credit card. When I logged into the MOJ website to check the judgment details, I discovered that the case involved two bounced cheques, each for AED 10,800, which I did not sign. In 2014, when I applied for an auto loan, I received a credit card with a limit of AED 15,000, and I signed a guarantee cheque for that amount. However, I am confused as to how the two cheques for AED 10,800 each were issued. The signatures on both cheques, which amount to AED 10,800 each, are completely different from my actual signature, with each having a different pattern. Who is responsible for this? I would appreciate your guidance on this matter from a legal perspective.+1

What can I do if the tenant refuses to leave the property at the end of the eviction notice?
Q: We served our tenant 1-year eviction notice. All done correctly and I don’t think he will leave when he should leave in a week. He tried to raise a petition to the DLD to say we own other properties that make the eviction illegal which the DLD rejected as we don’t own other property.
