Q: Dear Lawyers, I received a rental apartment eviction notice from Dubai courts, which was sent and signed by a power of attorney. However, the property has two owners. Do both owners need to authorize the POA, and is there a way to check if the POA is actually authorized to send the notice? Is it possible that the POA has authorization from only one owner and was still able to send the notice?

How is compensation calculated for evicting a tenant and renting to someone else?
Q: Dear Lawyers, My former tenant filed a 200k compensation case against me because I did not move into the house and rented it to another tenant. There was only one hearing, and in the next, I received the judgment to pay 100k in compensation. The breakdown states 40k as the rent difference for each year and 20k as moral damages. I am unable to understand how this amount was calculated, as the rent difference between my old rent and his new rent is 30k per year. Also, why have I been asked to pay the rent difference for 2 years?

How can I file a complaint against a customer for non-payment and fraud?
Q: Hello, I own a tourism company in the UAE. A customer hired a vehicle with a driver from my company, stating he would pay in cash. He used the car to get picked up from Jumeirah, traveled to Sharjah, and utilized it for a full-day service. When the driver requested payment, the customer said he would pay at the end of the service. However, at the end, he made the driver wait at a location and never showed up. I’ve followed up with him, but he neither pays nor responds to my texts or calls. He has a UAE number. How can I file a complaint against him? Is this considered fraud? Should I file a complaint with Dubai Police?

I paid a a booking fee for a real estate company to rent a warehouse and did not work. How to get the fee back?
Q: Hi, I paid 10% (booking fee) to a real estate company for renting a warehouse compound in Dubai. We had a verbal and written agreement (via invoice) that if the deal didn’t go through, they would refund the full 10% booking fee. The landlord took a lot of time and the deal didn’t go through, now one of the real estate agents is saying his partner is a scammer (2 owners). He says he always does this and does not refund clients` booking amounts. Right now, one partner says he will refund the money but it’s been a month since I asked for the money back. He is always telling stories. However, he gave me a personal cheque of around 60k saying this was a guarantee cheque. However, he didn’t have any money in it so asked me not to deposit it. I really need my money back. How to proceed with this? Should I go to RERA or the police to help me get my money back asap? Kindly assist. Thank you

Q: Hello, I am wondering how I can sue or report a ladies` salon in Abu Dhabi for physical and emotional distress after a pedicure led to urgent care for a severe infection. I was prescribed antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medication, painkillers, and given an injection in my buttocks. I am now on crutches and unable to walk. A week after the pedicure, I underwent surgery to have my nail and skin surgically removed as a result. I spoke with the salon the day after my appointment when my foot swelled up and I went to the hospital. The technician refused to let me speak to the owner and begged me not to report her. I am extremely distressed and fed up, and I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. I have all my medical records, proof of payment to the salon, and WhatsApp messages between myself and the salon discussing my toe. What legal grounds do I have to sue the salon for damages? Should I appeal my court decision after winning compensation for my landlord's unjust eviction?
Q: Dear Lawyers, I won a court case against my previous landlord because his notary told me that he wanted to sell the property, so I had to move out. He has since re-rented it for a much higher amount. My rent was 72k, and the landlord re-rented it for 100k. The court decided that I would receive a 30k compensation. Q: Hello, I am Christian and married to a Christian wife under Christian law in India (we are residents of the UAE). My wife has filed a case with the Personal Status Court for a travel ban to prevent my daughter from traveling with me. What can I do if a company is recording voices in my house through a work laptop?
Q: Good Day! my concern is that I had a relationship with a boy and he went on vacation. As he requested to help him with his work during his vacation period, he gave me his laptop and told me his company would use some of his files remotely. I only have to open the laptop and keep it connected to the internet. They have done their work from time to time and I have seen they did the voice recording. When I checked, they voice-recorded the daily activities of my room. I asked my BF and he said he didn`t know about this and he asked his IT staff. IT Staff mentioned that as per his managing director; `s instructions, they did it and if anything happens he will hold the responsibility [I have a screenshot of this conversation]. Since I`m really worried about my privacy, I would like to know what I can do about this matter and how I can file a case against them. I have all the voice recordings, his laptop, and a screenshot of their conversation. Thank you.

How can I act against the domestic violence and cheating of my boyfriend?
Q: Hi. I have been with my boyfriend for 2 years now. I moved in with him. When we started dating, he already borrowed some money from me. Then later on, he asked me to take a loan so he could get a flat. Then when I got the bonus, we used it to pay his pending to clear his case. He keeps cheating on me. many times I caught him. He became violent, hitting me, punching me even in a taxi, and he pulled my hair in front of his brothers. He broke my phone when I tried to move out. But still, I stayed because I love him. He started buying cameras at home. He is hiding the camera because he is accusing me of cheating. He is accusing me of having a relationship with other guys in the flat. He is becoming more and more abusive. Every day he is accusing me of something. I bought a camera and helped him install it to prove he was wrong. But he kept accusing me of even changing the position of the camera every day. What should I do? What legal action can I take? I want to put an end to this now.
