Q: We are a UK-based company that paid for a UAE agency to complete a photoshoot for us. Some time passed as we were struggling to schedule a shoot in our schedule. They also delayed the matter due to a lack of availability for them. They promised us a shoot by November but then stopped responding to us. We threatened legal action and now they are only offering a refund of approximately 18%. Please could you advise me on how to move forward as they have cheated us?

Can I refuse to leave the apartment after the eviction notice if the landlord shows no intention to sell?
Q: I am reposting the question as maybe I was not clear the first time. I am a tenant in an apartment in Dubai. I stayed in the apartment for a long time. I received a valid 12-month notice from the landlord to vacate the property because they want to sell it. However, 9 months have passed since and the landlord has shown no intention of selling. I asked them about it and they said they intend to renovate it first before selling it. As I do not want to move out, can I dispute this at the RDC in any way? Meaning, do I have any basis for dispute?

Q: Dear Lawyers, How can I inquire about properties registered under a company if I have a copy of its trade license but don`t know how to verify the properties associated with it? Please note that my labor case is currently in the execution stage. Despite taking multiple steps, the employer is disregarding the court`s decision and continues to ignore it. What can I do if the tenant refuses to leave the property at the end of the eviction notice?
Q: We served our tenant 1-year eviction notice. All done correctly and I don’t think he will leave when he should leave in a week. He tried to raise a petition to the DLD to say we own other properties that make the eviction illegal which the DLD rejected as we don’t own other property. I want to be prepared, so does anyone know what documents I’ll need to submit to raise a case if he doesn’t leave and what I need to translate before?

How do I fight false forgery claims from my estranged husband over a car sale he approved in jail?
Q: Dear Lawyers, My estranged husband filed a false criminal complaint against me out of revenge. He claims I forged his signature for a car sale that he fully agreed to while in jail in 2022 but now denies out of spite. He was arrested in 2022 on drug trafficking charges and imprisoned at Al Barsha Jail. He agreed to sell our car (registered in his name), so I had a Power of Attorney (POA) drafted, which he signed while in jail. When I attempted to have it notarized, I was informed that the POA had to be processed from jail. I notified him, and he instructed me to proceed with the sale, assuring me he would finalize the paperwork after his release. The buyer, a family friend, took the damaged car (with flat tires, a dead engine, and a dead battery) based on trust and my husband’s verbal agreement. Now that he has been released, he denies agreeing to the sale and is falsely accusing me of forgery because I have refused to meet with him. He has physically abused me multiple times and has used threats of violence against my family to stop me from leaving. Please, I need legal advice on how to fight these false charges.

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My previous employer has filed an embezzlement case against me after I left the job (almost 14 months ago). I have no clue what evidence they have, as it is a fake case. I also didn’t have any non-compete clause in my contract. The case is still under investigation at the police station and has not been passed to prosecution. My statement was taken two months ago, but there has been no further development. I do have a travel ban in place, as it is a criminal case. Is there a way to move the case to prosecution and lift the ban? How should I prepare for it?+3

Q: Dear Lawyers, My former tenant filed a 200k compensation case against me because I did not move into the house and rented it to another tenant. There was only one hearing, and in the next, I received the judgment to pay 100k in compensation. The breakdown states 40k as the rent difference for each year and 20k as moral damages. I am unable to understand how this amount was calculated, as the rent difference between my old rent and his new rent is 30k per year. Q: Hello, I own a tourism company in the UAE. A customer hired a vehicle with a driver from my company, stating he would pay in cash. He used the car to get picked up from Jumeirah, traveled to Sharjah, and utilized it for a full-day service. I paid a a booking fee for a real estate company to rent a warehouse and did not work. How to get the fee back?
Q: Hi, I paid 10% (booking fee) to a real estate company for renting a warehouse compound in Dubai. We had a verbal and written agreement (via invoice) that if the deal didn’t go through, they would refund the full 10% booking fee. The landlord took a lot of time and the deal didn’t go through, now one of the real estate agents is saying his partner is a scammer (2 owners). He says he always does this and does not refund clients` booking amounts. Right now, one partner says he will refund the money but it’s been a month since I asked for the money back. He is always telling stories. However, he gave me a personal cheque of around 60k saying this was a guarantee cheque. However, he didn’t have any money in it so asked me not to deposit it. I really need my money back. How to proceed with this? Should I go to RERA or the police to help me get my money back asap? Kindly assist. Thank you+2

Q: Hello, I am wondering how I can sue or report a ladies` salon in Abu Dhabi for physical and emotional distress after a pedicure led to urgent care for a severe infection. I was prescribed antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medication, painkillers, and given an injection in my buttocks. I am now on crutches and unable to walk. A week after the pedicure, I underwent surgery to have my nail and skin surgically removed as a result. I spoke with the salon the day after my appointment when my foot swelled up and I went to the hospital. The technician refused to let me speak to the owner and begged me not to report her. I am extremely distressed and fed up, and I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. I have all my medical records, proof of payment to the salon, and WhatsApp messages between myself and the salon discussing my toe. What legal grounds do I have to sue the salon for damages? Should I appeal my court decision after winning compensation for my landlord's unjust eviction?
Q: Dear Lawyers, I won a court case against my previous landlord because his notary told me that he wanted to sell the property, so I had to move out. He has since re-rented it for a much higher amount. My rent was 72k, and the landlord re-rented it for 100k. The court decided that I would receive a 30k compensation. Before filing the court case, I read in a forum that the penalty payment should be equivalent to a year`s rent. Should I file an appeal against the court`s decision, or is it sufficient?
