I booked an apartment and did not get any contract. How to get money paid to real estate agent?
Q: I paid an AED 8190 booking fee in February, but the agent then failed to provide the apartment or even a contract which was to be signed on the 15th of March. As per our agreement, I requested a refund. We had a back-and-forth, and then they gave me a cheque for the amount to be cashed on the 28th of March. I received a legal notice from my creditor. How can I make a settlement to pay?
Q: I received a legal notice as I owed money to a friend. During corona, and for the last 2 years, I don`t have a stable job, not receiving a salary on time. I told my friend that I cannot commit to that time. However, recently in the last 2 months, I got a job and I explicitly told her to allow me to start next month. I replied to the legal firm confirming I received the notice and also send them proof that I don`t have the capability of paying that on time. I am in the right way of responding to the legal firm and sending all proof of my income. I even have open communication with her. I never blocked her and I have the intention to pay. I should have left the UAE and disappeared. I requested for amicable settlement as they requested to pay back the money (AED 25K) in 5 days, that`s the reason I explained and attached a financial statement to prove that I am not receiving a fixed but a late salary from my previous company. How can I negotiate with the bank regarding credit card if I lost my job?
Q: Hi, Please advise the below issue with the bank. I lost my job last 2018, and due to this, I`m not able to pay my monthly dues to the bank. I visited the bank to discuss that I have insurance for my credit card. But the bank denied that insurance and said to me that I should apply for that insurance after my company finishes my work contract. It takes me 3 months before I visit the bank to apply for the insurance. The bank sued me in a civil case. I paid the amount to the police. But the bank still forces me to pay the pending amount. I manage to pay per month since Sept 2019 and until Dec 2022. Again I lost my work last Dec 2022. I`m not able to pay now the monthly dues that the bank required. How can you lift an absconding to get a new visa if the ex-employer refuses?
Q: Hello, My partner left his job in December as they were refusing to pay him his salary and refusing to pay his overstay fines although they told him they were doing so when completing the visa process. As a result, he could no longer afford to go to work while not being paid. Both he and the employer opened a case with the labor. We traveled home for Christmas and while there received a message from labor that complaints on both sides were dropped. We returned to the UAE in January and he started a new job. The new employer applied for a visa but it was denied as the previous employer reported absconding. Just wondering how to get the absconding lifted. Q: Dear Sir/Madam, In December, I purchased an item from a website based in Dubai that claimed to sell authentic products. However, upon receiving the item, I noticed that the packaging was strange and the material felt stiff. Upon investigation, I discovered that the item was actually fake. I contacted the website, but they refused to provide a refund and that I can report them to the authorities if I wished to do so. Later on, I decided to purchase two more items from the same brand, but this time through the official website. I sent them pictures and additional comparisons to the first website, seeking clarification and a refund. However, they ignored my queries and insisted that their products were authentic. They even warned me against reporting them to the consumer department, claiming that I could potentially lose a lot of money due to damaging their e-commerce website`s reputation. I am wondering if I could face legal action or intimidation if I report that the item is fraudulent. Unexpected high bill due to unauthorized SIM plan usage. What to do?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I need your help regarding my SIM Plan. When I signed up for the plan, I specifically requested to use my own number since it`s with the same network. The agent agreed, and I provided my ID and signed the documents. He informed me that I had to activate it before I could use it. However, when I attempted to activate it, it did not proceed, and I assumed that I didn`t have a plan. I did not contact the agent because I thought that since it was not activated, I would not be charged for anything. After a few months had passed, I began to receive bills, and someone was paying for the plan. I then inquired as to why I had a plan when it wasn`t activated. That`s when I discovered that another person was using the plan under my name, and I had to pay to cancel it. I don`t know who that person is, but the agent informed me that I had to pay for it because it was under my name. The amount reached over a thousand because the person did not pay. My landlord served me an eviction notice to sell the property. What can I do if he rented it again?
Q: Like some similar cases being explained here, I am a tenant renting the same property for the last 3 years. Last year, after a rent extension, the landlord issued me a 12-month notarised eviction notice on the fact that the house goes for sale. The eviction notice is due on April 6th and I will evacuate the house and move to a different location which I signed already. However, there are absolutely no signs that the house is going on the market for sale, not posted online, and no visitors or anything. I am very sure the house will not go for sale but for rent again, hence I intend to raise a case against the landlord. The question is, when shall I raise a case, waiting for the house to be rented, or immediately after evacuation? Q: Salam Sir, I came to Abu Dhabi on a visit visa from Sharjah on 15th February 2023 and I got an offer letter for QAQC Engineer from a contracting company.
