Q: I am legally divorced since 2015 in the UAE and paying sustenance to my wife for our son (15 years). Son is under the sponsorship of my ex and she is not renewing her and my son`s visa. My son has no visa or medical insurance. I am willing to sponsor my son however, my ex is not cooperating. My ex-wife is not working or earning either. What can I do? I won the case against my ex-employer based on a lower salary. Should I appeal?
Q: Dear all, I have just won my case against my former employer. However, the salary the court used for the calculations of my arrears is the one mentioned in the labor contract (46000 per month) instead of the actual salary paid out via WPS (55200). I hired one of the best law firms here, and we submitted salary slips, bank statements with credits, and a salary certificate with 55200 as the salary. However, the judge used 46000 to calculate the payout. Now, I have the option to appeal. But the difference is barely 20000 and from what I have heard, the appeal could take 2-3 months more. Evicting an employee from school accommodation while a labor case is pending
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I was wrongfully terminated by my school under Article 44 on March 20th, 2023. I have a case in the labor courts, and the first hearing is on April 4th, 2023. However, my employer is asking me to vacate the school accommodation. I asked the Ministry of Labor and the courts, and they informed me that the school cannot evict me until the case is resolved. A scammer took the money and did not deliver the items. What to do?
Q: Hello all, I am based in the UAE; however, I have been a victim of scammers recently and am facing much distress. I ordered some items like an iPhone, a laptop, AirPods, a Play Station, and smartwatches, and paid the whole payment upfront, but that scammer didn`t deliver anything to me. I lost almost 15,000 AED, and now I have opened a case against the scammer with Dubai Police. I transferred the payment through an exchange by domestic transfer inside the UAE via 10 transfers because the scammer kept citing the delay in delivery and asked for more and more money to deliver the order. I admire that I had enough stupidity to transfer the payment with almost blind faith in the scammer. I have all the WhatsApp conversations which happened between me and the scammer, and all the payment confirmation slips, and the Emirates ID of the scammer. Can we terminate an employee who left the country without informing us?
Q: Hello, We have an employee (under probation) who left the country secretly thinking that we will never find out. He exited the country on March 14, 2023, and continued to work remotely. On March 20 & 21 he took an emergency leave so I started investigating and requested an exit/entry report from immigration. On March 23, 2023, we temporarily disabled his email and other company accounts. Yesterday (March 28), we finally received the immigration exit report which shows he exited on March 14, 2023. الانسحاب من الشركة رغم رفض الشريك
