The employer agrees to withdraw the theft case, but the prosecutor refuses. What now?
Q: Dear Sir/Ma`am, I`m an accused in a theft case at my workstation. The amount stolen was 7000 AED. I surrendered, confessed, and agreed to pay the entire amount immediately to my employer. However, he still called the police and filed a case. At the same time, the police recovered the entire 7000 AED from me, but my boss was still not ready to drop the case. After a few days, he somehow agreed to an out-of-court settlement, demanding 10000 AED. We agreed to it and, in return, requested him to withdraw the case. We paid him the amount, and he got a letter from the typing center to withdraw the case. When he went to the police, they said the file had already been moved to the prosecutor. We went to the prosecutor, and they said the file had been moved to them, but they hadn`t registered the case in their system yet. Now the prosecutor doesn`t want to drop the case, as he wants legal action to be taken against me. Please assist with how to withdraw this case from the prosecutor. If it can`t be dropped, what actions might be imposed on me?

Q: Hello, My tenant`s current tenancy contract is due for renewal on 24th July 2024 (the contract period end date is 24th July 2024). However, I would like to give a 12-month eviction notice to my tenant before the end of the existing tenancy contract. Can I do it? If I give a 12-month eviction notice on 15th July 2024, the end date to be mentioned at the time of renewal of the new tenancy contract would be the end date of the 12-month eviction notice, right? Unpaid for 5 months: Should I leave immediately or file a complaint with MOHRE?
Q: Good day! I would like to seek advice regarding my situation. I am currently employed by a Freezone company under a limited contract valid until October 2024. The issue is that they haven’t paid our salaries for 5 months (since February 2024). We have been receiving monthly promises that they will pay and settle the amounts, but we haven`t received anything. I tried talking to the management and sent them emails, and they again promised that they will settle everything in 2 months. I want to know my rights and if it is possible to leave without the notice period since they are already in breach of contract. Additionally, is it better to complain to MOHRE immediately before my resignation, or should I wait for the 2 months they promised? Thank you for the insights!
