Can I resign during probationary period without paying compensation?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I am on a limited contract (I think, as it does not contain an end date but states a duration of 3 years). I am one month into a 6-month probationary period and I wish to resign. I am happy to serve the required notice period (14 days as stated in the contract), but I wish to understand if I will be liable to pay the employer compensation for resigning within the 3 years.

I left my work and my employer did not pay my indemnity. How to claim that?
Q: Dear professionals, I have completed 2 years and 3 months in Bahrain. My employer has refused to provide me with my indemnity and leave salary as well as an air ticket. How to calculate the notice period upon termination during the probation period?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My company is registered in DMCC Dubai. On May 2, 2023, my HR emailed me in the evening to relieve me of my duties on May 4, 2023, which is against the UAE labor law because a minimum of 14 days` notice period is mandatory from either party during probation. On May 4, 2023, I was forcibly relieved of my job. The next day, I emailed HR to address the legal provisions. On May 8, 2023, I received an email from HR to report to the firm on May 9, 2023, and serve the remaining notice period of 11 days. Do the period from May 5 to May 8, 2023, count towards the notice period as per the labor law of the UAE? I need your expert advice.

Can the bank ask me to sign a blank cheque to withdraw a civil case for unpaid loan?
Q: Hello Is it customary that during the settlement of a personal loan, the bank asks you to sign a blank cheque? I am no longer a UAE resident. The bank filed a civil case and went through direct execution. Now that we are in settlement talk, they want a down payment and ask me to sign a blank cheque in case I default on the settlement agreement. Previously, they made me sign a blank cheque and made me believe it was necessary in order to restructure the loan, but it was not their true intent. The question is should I sign again a blank cheque as part of the settlement agreement?
