Q: Hi, I joined the company on June 26, 2021. The general manager approved my salary increase on June 28, 2023. My labor contract ends on July 12, 2023. The HR manager applied my salary increase starting in August 2023. Is this allowed? Or should it be applicable in July 2023? Does the labor contract affect the date of the increment?

Can landlord change terms of lease renewal if it's less than a year?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My lease expires at the end of October. However, my landlord served us a notice for eviction in February through the proper channels. Our lease is now due to end in October, as that is when the contract expires. However, the landlord is now saying that if we want to renew until February, we must do so under updated terms and a rent increase. Wouldn`t this just be an extension of the same terms, and it is not for a full year?

Can I refuse a transfer to a different location if my visa only lists one branch?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I currently work in a group of restaurants in the UAE, which are owned by different owners but have an overall founder. My visa was sponsored by one of the branch owners and only lists the location of one branch. However, my sponsor wants to transfer me to work in another location that is not indicated on my contract or visa. Is there any way that I can protect myself from having to leave? Can I travel back home if there is a pending complaint against me in MOHRE?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I resigned from my company last month before completing my probation period. I complained to MOHRE about my employer holding my passport, and then my employer filed a complaint against me in MOHRE for compensation of 5,000 AED for training. Can I go back to my home country if the complaint is still pending? Will there be any problem with immigration at the airport? (The complaint hasn`t reached the court yet).2023/08/04

Delayed property delivery: Can I sue the developer and get my money back?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I have fully paid for and registered a property from a developer. There are no dues on my part. My wife and I own the property, which was registered in 2019. The property was supposed to be delivered in 2020, but the builder has not provided any official information and has only mentioned delays due to COVID-19 verbally. The property has not been handed over to us yet, and their office has not responded to our inquiries clearly. They always say that the property will be handed over in one or two months. My husband's education certificate is rejected for being fake. What happens now?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My husband and I went to MOFA to have his education certificate attested. However, they said that it is only possible to do so online. So we downloaded the application and submitted it online. The next day, a courier came to collect the documents. After three days, my husband received only a photocopy of his certificate. We were surprised to find out that it had been rejected. The paper said that the owner of the document must collect the original copy from MOFA Sharjah. We were terrified because we had just asked someone in the Philippines to have his documents attested. Our question is, if we collect the documents from MOFA Sharjah, will the authorities take my husband? What are our chances here? Obviously, if we knew the documents were fake, we would not have submitted them to be attested.

ماذا يمكنني أن أفعل بعد حصولي على حكم قضية عمالية للحصول على مستحقاتي وإلغاء تأشيرتي؟
س: أعزائي المهنيين، قضيتي في محاكم دبي محددة للحكم. لدي بعض الأسئلة ماذا سيحدث بعد الحكم: 1- كيف يمكنني إلغاء بطاقة العمل والتأشيرة؟ 2- لدي غرامة على بطاقة العمل الخاصة بي بسبب عدم تجديد بطاقة العمل الخاصة بي من قبل الشركة. إذن من سيدفع الغرامة؟ إذا ذهبت إلى وزارة الموارد البشرية والتوطين لإلغاء بطاقة العمل، هل تطلب مني وزارة الموارد البشرية والتوطين دفع غرامة؟ 3- علمت أن إدارة الهجرة لن تلغي تأشيرتي بدون صاحب العمل، لذا يرجى تقديم المشورة لي بشأن ما يجب فعله إذا لم يوافق صاحب العمل على الحضور إلى الهجرة لإلغاء التأشيرة. 4- متى يمكنني التقدم بطلب التنفيذ للحصول على مستحقاتي (قبل إلغاء العمل/التأشيرة أو بعده)؟ شكرًا لك
