Can I travel to my country for vacation after finishing a case and paying fine?
Q: Good day Sir/Mam I have a question. We/I have been involved in a fight last week, and the police arrested us. After a week in jail, the Abu Dhabi first instance court released a paper for our fine which we already paid, then we were just released. My questions are: Is there a possibility that I can use my vacation to my country? Is there another hearing session happening after we pay the fine? Or is there another thing I need to do so I can leave the country temporarily because of my vacation is coming? Thank you in advance.

My landlord served me an eviction notice to sell the property. What can I do if he rented it again?
Q: Like some similar cases being explained here, I am a tenant renting the same property for the last 3 years. Last year, after a rent extension, the landlord issued me a 12-month notarised eviction notice on the fact that the house goes for sale. The eviction notice is due on April 6th and I will evacuate the house and move to a different location which I signed already. However, there are absolutely no signs that the house is going on the market for sale, not posted online, and no visitors or anything. I am very sure the house will not go for sale but for rent again, hence I intend to raise a case against the landlord. The question is, when shall I raise a case, waiting for the house to be rented, or immediately after evacuation? And what is the best way to find the house status once I am out, how can I know the house is again up for rent? Appreciate your feedback.

Denied air ticket by employer after resignation
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I have been working in a company for the past 5 years and 8 months. I have recently resigned and wish to return to my home country. However, my employer is refusing to provide me with an air ticket, stating that I resigned and am not entitled to a ticket back to my country. I require a legal opinion on this matter.

The consequences of resigning as a housekeeper in Sharjah's 4-star hotel
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I have been working as a housekeeper in a 4-star hotel in Sharjah for the past three months. However, I am not comfortable with the work and the environment. Can I resign from my job? Would I have to pay any money if I resign? Would there be a chance of getting banned? Also, I haven`t received my Emirates ID yet, and my passport is with my employer.

My employment visa was rejected in the security clearance. How to know the reason?
Q: Salam Sir, I came to Abu Dhabi on a visit visa from Sharjah on 15th February 2023 and I got an offer letter for QAQC Engineer from a contracting company. When they applied for security clearance to proceed with the visa, it was refused. Now the company HR ask me to go to immigration and check what`s the reason. I moved out from my house and could not hand the the keys over. Can the landlord sue me?
Q: Kindly note that my property agent has threatened to take me to court since I moved out and I was unable to hand over the keys. I have arranged for a third party to sign on my behalf but the property agent didn’t show up on the date we agreed.

What can I do if the seller of a car I bought gave false information about it?
Q: I bought a used car yesterday for 80k and on the classified, he stated that the car model was 2014 but after the testing reports came out it stated 2013. The guy was shady overall and even took the car to a testing center without our supervision in an unknown place, far from where we first saw the car. Can I get the custody back from my ex-wife if I am leaving the UAE after losing job?
Q: Good Morning, I divorced my wife last year in Pakistan and she opened a case in Dubai for child maintenance as I am paying 3000 dirhams for one year daughter. Now I lost my job and they canceled my visa. Soon I have to go back to my country as I didn`t find a job. My questions here: 1. Will I be able to get custody of my daughter as I am returning to my home country? 2. If the judge gives her custody and I will go back to Pakistan, how will I pay for child maintenance and visit my daughter in Dubai? 3. Q: Good evening from the USA. I am searching for a person who disappeared from contact with me on 8 march. After having called many friends and acquaintances in Abu Dhabi, they told me that she may have been arrested. What is required to find out if she is in legal trouble? An arbitrary non-compete clause in a labor contract. What to do?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I have two questions; one is about the non-compete clause term and another is about predetermined compensation. 1) My contract includes a non-compete clause stating that an employee cannot "in any capacity be engaged, interested or employed in a competitor`s business in the UAE during 12 months after termination of the contract." I don`t work in sales. I am working at a managerial level, I won`t take clients or secrets with me when I leave. Is it valid when I join a competitor in a similar position? Can changing the job title/department avoid this clause? 2) My contract states that if an employee breaches any provisions of the clause, "the employee agrees to pay the damages equivalent to the employee`s monthly salary for each month for the entire period." Does the company need to prove that I caused the damages to the company to file a case? Can they file a case as long as I join any competitor?
