Scammed by a real estate agent: Flat occupied. How to file a complaint?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I was cheated by a real estate agent in Abu Dhabi. I paid him 12,500 AED in advance to book a 1BKH. After the payment, the agent asked me to come back after 2 days for the Tawtheeq process, but he kept postponing. As a result, I went to the flat, and to my surprise, someone was already living there. After that, when I tried to contact the agent, he did not respond. Can you please advise me on whom to contact and what the procedure is for filing a complaint?

Non-compete clause in offer letter, absent in contract. Is it applicable?
Q: Hi. I have recently joined an organisation in the UAE. They have shared with me an offer letter on their company letterhead which prohibits me from joining the competitors for six months after leaving. Later, they shared the MOHRE Job Offer Letter which does not have a non-compete clause. Both the letters I had signed. I was told they would share the labour contract but they didn`t; instead, they copied my signature from the Job Offer Letter to the Labour Contract without my knowledge. The labour contract also does not have a non-compete clause. Now I need to know whether the clause applies to me or not if I join another organisation.

Q: Hi, I recently accepted a job offer from a company in Dubai. According to the offer letter, the notice period is 30 days. However, upon joining, I was asked to sign the MOL contract, where the notice period is mentioned as 90 days. I don`t want to sign the offer with a 90-day notice period. Buyer default: Can the developer deduct 40% and cancel the SPA?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I am a developer in Dubai. The buyer of an off-plan property defaulted on payment, paying only 55% of the amount due, while the project is currently 70% completed. As per the default clause under the SPA, I can deduct 40%, retain the property, and cancel the SPA. Q: Hi, Good Day! I issued a personal cheque valued at 55k AED to a vendor five months ago. During this time, I paid half of the amount, but currently, I have no job or any source of income to cover the remaining balance. Unit registration delays, slow construction. Can I cancel SPA for a refund?
Q: Hi, I purchased a unit in July. I`ve requested Oqood several times to no avail. They responded that the registration will take time, and the delay is from DLD. I checked with DLD, and they informed me that no registration application had been made in my name. Additionally, when I purchased the unit, I was promised several things, including Golder Residency, and a flexible payment plan of (70/30), but that was all untrue. Furthermore, I realized that the developer provided their direct bank account rather than an Escrow account, which raised a red flag for me. The contract stated that the completion time is July 2024, but the construction progress is still under 20% as per the DLD website. I have the intention to cancel my SPA and request a refund. Will that be doable?
