Under UAE Labour Law (Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021), an employee can resign during the probation period to join another company, but must give at least 30 days’ written notice.

The new employer may be legally required to compensate the current employer for recruitment and hiring expenses.

Failure to follow proper procedures can result in a labour ban of up to one year.

Visa cancellation and reissuance are also required, and skilled workers (Levels 1 and 2) are generally exempt from bans if procedures are followed correctly.
