Can I delay cheque enforcement if I’m abroad after the 7-day notice period?
Hello,
After the 7-day notice period in a cheque execution case, how long do I have to file for enforcement?
Is it acceptable to wait and file after one month as I’m out of the country?

You can appear after the deadline has passed from the date of the legal notice to the person being executed, in the correct manner. You can complete the execution through your attorney.
You can contact us, as we specialize in enforcement cases and financial claims, and can complete the execution procedures from within the country.
After the 7-day notice period in a cheque execution case expires and the debtor fails to pay, you should proceed with filing for enforcement as soon as possible to protect your rights.
While the court will likely still accept your enforcement application after one month, any delay could potentially slow down the overall execution process.
If you need further clarification, you may ask us.

A 7-day notice period means there is an execution file. However, you can work on it online, and I can assist you.

If you have obtained an execution stamp on the bounced cheque, a 7-day notice to pay will be served to the debtor.
If he doesn't pay, then the creditor has the right to request the court to issue execution orders against the debtor, such as seizure of bank accounts, assets, shares, vehicles, etc.
UAE law doesn't specify a strict deadline for when to apply for execution orders after the expiry of the 7-day notice to pay.

After the 7-day notice period in a cheque execution case, you are generally expected to proceed with enforcement without undue delay. While there is no strict deadline immediately after the 7 days, it is advisable to initiate enforcement as soon as possible to avoid any complications or objections from the debtor’s side.
If you are currently outside the UAE, it is still possible to file for enforcement through a legal representative.
Appointing a lawyer will ensure that the enforcement procedures are carried out on your behalf without delay and in compliance with the applicable legal requirements.
