Can I grant someone a power of attorney with expired personal documents?

Greetings,

I have some cases to deal with, but all my documents are now expired.

Is there any possible way to grant someone power of attorney with expired personal documents?

Hello,

In the UAE, to grant Power of Attorney (PoA), your personal documents (such as your passport, Emirates ID, residency visa, or other identification documents) must generally be valid.

If your documents have expired, the process may be complicated, but there are still steps you can take to resolve the situation.

If your passport is expired, you will need to renew it through your home country's embassy or consulate in the UAE.

If you need to grant Power of Attorney urgently and cannot renew your expired documents immediately, you may attempt the process with expired documents, but it will depend on the circumstances and the specific requirements of the notary or the authority receiving the PoA.

For a detailed discussion, kindly share your WhatsApp number.

Unfortunately, using expired personal documents to grant a Power of Attorney (POA) is not possible.

Expired documents are not considered valid legal documents and cannot be used to authorize someone to act on your behalf.

Dear Sir,

You have the right to file lawsuits and claim any rights.

As for the invalidity of the supporting documents, this is another matter that can be handled according to administrative procedures.

You can try to issue a power of attorney based on the completed documents, but this may face some challenges.

It is preferable to contact your notary public or consulate to find out the available options. If this is not possible, you can appoint a lawyer to assist with the required issues.

No, the notary public refuses to issue a power of attorney to anyone who does not have valid documents.
