How long does Dubai court take to enforce child support if the father fled the UAE?
Good day,
I won a case in Dubai court. I am the mother of two kids, 17 and 6 years old. The father has to pay a certain amount for our kids. I opened an execution case, but the father ran away from the UAE.
How long does it take for the Dubai court to process the execution? I have documents from the court; what is their validity?
Thank you!
Dear Questioner,
The execution process can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on the specific circumstances of the case.
The validity of the court documents is usually one year, but it can be extended if necessary.
It is important to keep in touch with the court and provide any updates or new information about the father's whereabouts to expedite the execution process.
It is also recommended to seek legal advice from a lawyer to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to enforce the court's decision.

Dear Questioner,
Good day!
In Dubai, if you have won a case and the father of your children is required to make payments but has fled the UAE, there are several steps involved in the execution of the court's decision.
- Execution Process Timeframe:
The timeframe for executing a court decision can vary based on the specifics of the case and the actions of the parties involved.
If the debtor (in this case, the father) has left the UAE, the execution process can be more complex and may take longer.
The court will typically first try to enforce the decision within the UAE, but if the debtor is abroad, this may involve international legal procedures or cooperation.
- Validity of Court Documents:
The documents you have from the court are valid and crucial for the enforcement process. These documents usually include the court's judgment and any orders for enforcement.
You should keep these documents safe, as they will be needed to demonstrate the court's decision and your right to enforce it.
- International Enforcement:
If the debtor has left the UAE, you might need to involve international legal assistance. This could include working with authorities in the country where the debtor has moved, which might involve filing for enforcement in that jurisdiction or seeking international cooperation.
- Dubai Courts and Execution:
You should follow up with the Dubai courts to understand the specific procedures for cases where the debtor is abroad. The court might also have mechanisms to help track the debtor or work with international legal authorities.
Overall, while the execution process can be delayed if the debtor has fled, having legal guidance and understanding the procedures involved will be crucial in seeking the support you need.
Kindly do not hesitate to contact us via phone or email for further guidance.
Greetings,
Dear Questioner,
According to UAE law, the execution process can take up to two years to be completed.
However, if the father has left the country, it may take longer as the court will need to locate him and serve him with the execution order.
The validity of the court documents is usually one year, but it can be extended upon request.
