I have been terminated from my job after my position was made redundant. Can I claim compensation?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been terminated from my company with a 30-day notice period after serving 7 years and 10 months.

According to my company, my role has become redundant, and they aim to reduce expenses. However, they did not mention any reason for my termination.

Am I eligible to claim a three months' salary as compensation?

Please advise.

Dear questioner

Redundancy is not illegal in the UAE and if the company follows a policy to provide three months' compensation, then you can get the same.

As per the law, it is not mentioned that the company shall provide 3 months' salary as compensation, but you have all other rights including notice period salary and gratuity and pending unused annual leave salary.
