Two days of sick leave are refused and deducted as three days. Can I file a salary complaint?
Hi,
I took sick leave for 2 days, which were Monday and Tuesday. However, my sick leave was not attested and was refused by HR.
In the attendance record, they marked me as absent for 3 days, including Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. My salary is being deducted for 3 days.
Can I file a salary complaint with MOHRE for illegal deduction?
Dear Questioner,
According to the UAE Labor Law, the employee must notify the employer about his sickness within a maximum of three days and submit a medical report on his condition, issued by a medical entity.
If 2 days leave is marked as 3 days, you can file a complaint with MOHRE for the illegal deduction.
Review your contract for your company policy.
