I lost a case because of my lawyer's negligence. How can I sue them?
Hi all,
I lost a case because of my lawyer's negligence. I have email evidence. How can I sue them?
How do I raise a complaint against them? Will I need a lawyer to put a legal case against them or can I do it myself?
I lost money on this case, and every lawyer I speak to never gives a clear answer on the fees. They just say, "Start and we'll see." I can't do that.
Thanks!
Dear Questioner,
We can assist you in analyzing the case and advise you if there's negligence or not, and what could be your legal solutions to solve the matter.

Hi Questioner,
If you have conclusive evidence of the negligence, you can file a complaint to the lawyer's disciplinary committee in the Ministry of Justice.
You can do that yourself, but your previous lawyer will be given the right to defend himself and therefore we advise that you have a lawyer appointed to reply and follow up on the complaint.
If the disciplinary committee issues its decision convicting the lawyer of negligence, and this decision is upheld by the court of appeal, then you can sue for compensation before the civil court of jurisdiction.

Dear Questioner,
According to UAE law, you have the right to file a complaint against your lawyer for negligence. You can do this by submitting a written complaint to the Legal Affairs Department of the Ministry of Justice.
You can also file a complaint with the Dubai Legal Affairs Department if your case was handled in Dubai.
In order to sue your lawyer, you will need to hire another lawyer to represent you in court. It is not recommended to represent yourself in a legal case, especially if you are not familiar with the legal system and procedures.
