What can I do If my employer is not providing me with the Emirates ID and health insurance?

Good afternoon

I've been working in a private company for about a year now, and my boss is not getting my ID because it has a fine, since he made the wrong procedure for my visa.

When I am sick, it's too hard for me because I don't have an ID and I don't have insurance. And if I'm sick and can't go to work he is deducting from my salary 50 per day and the remaining salary is only 1500.

Please it's really hard for me, I need your help.

According to UAE labor law, it is the responsibility of the employer to ensure that their employees have valid residency permits (ID) and health insurance.

If your employer has not obtained your ID and health insurance, they are in violation of the law. You should first try to discuss this issue with your employer and request that they take the necessary steps to obtain your ID and health insurance.

If they refuse or do not take action, you can file a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE).

The MOHRE has a toll-free hotline (800 665) and an online complaint form that you can use to report your employer's violation.

In the meantime, you can also seek medical treatment at a government hospital or clinic, as they are required to provide emergency medical care to all residents, regardless of their residency status.

You can also keep records of any deductions made from your salary and use them as evidence in your complaint.

It is important to note that while your employer is responsible for obtaining your ID and health insurance, it is your responsibility to ensure that your residency permit is valid and to renew it before it expires.

I have my Visa, but my ID has been almost 1 year now and he is not taking it.

He is always telling me he will take but until now, no action.

Then for the insurance, I asked him today but he just shouted at me.

He said that his wife doesn't even have Insurance and the ID is expired, and then lastly he said he is not giving me insurance.

Please help me!

Dear questioner

If you have signed the work permit of MOHRE, you can file a complaint in MOHRE. Otherwise, it will be better to leave the company and find a new job in the UAE.

If you need our assistance in your case please share your Whatsapp number.

Yes, I have signed it.

Please I need help. I asked him many times to take my ID because it's really needed but he always just said "Okay I'll take it once business is okay".

It's almost a year now. I feel that he wants me to pay for the fine of my ID or deduct it from my salary so he will take it.

It's really unfair, and he is just giving me a very low salary. If I resign he wants me to pay for the visa.

We recommend filing a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization to ensure fairness.
