Can the company ask for compensation if I did not complete my notice period after resignation?
I resigned from the company by giving notice of 30 days but wasn't able to complete the duration.
I took an absence leave for the last 06 days and every day sent an email to the company for taking leave on those days.
Once the 30 days were completed, my company sent me an email claiming the following:
"Due to your failure to serve the notice period since submitting your letter of resignation, which is considered a clear violation of the labor law, it requires compensation depending on the type of damage you caused".
Can the company take such action even after informing them every day and not receiving any response from them?

The employer has the right to reject your request for leave during the notice period and can ask you to complete the full 30 days.
While the UAE Labor Law requires providing a full notice period, it allows exceptions in specific cases, such as illness or emergencies.
Here you have informed the company taking leave due to sickness. The company can cut off your salary during your leave period.
If they are asking for more as compensation, you can challenge it.
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question, I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you in this matter.
While you informed your company about your leave during the 30-day notice period through email, the effectiveness of this communication may depend on whether they acknowledged or approved your absence in writing.
If they did not respond or formally approve your leave, it could be considered a breach of the employment contract.
The company's claim for compensation may be based on this breach. To resolve the matter, try discussing it with your HR department or employer first.
