Can I take a sick leave without resigning in the UAE after an appendectomy?

I am on the probation period after arriving in the UAE. I had an appendectomy and am unfit for my job.
Can I go back to my country without resigning if I get a 2-month sick leave and come back to join my job after 2 months?
