How to avoid deportation from UAE after testing positive for TB?
Hi,
My friend is currently in the UAE and tested positive for TB during his medical examination. This is his first job in the UAE.
He is admitted to the hospital for 14 days of medical treatment. According to health authorities, he will be deported to his home country with a travel ban after completing the 14-day treatment.
Is there any way for him to stay in the UAE without being deported or to travel without a travel ban?
Dear Questioner,
If your friend has active TB, he will be deported.
However, there are some exemptions, such as if the new visa applicant is a member of a diplomatic or consular corps, or has a direct relative who is a UAE resident (including children studying in the UAE under the sponsorship of a school).
The applicant may also still be granted residency even if he has TB, but the applicant must undergo treatment and checkups.
If your friend is deported, he will need to have a copy of his unfit report to know what medical center issued it. After he is cured of TB, he can submit a request to remove the ban.
If you have any further questions or queries, please send us an email.
Regards,
