Is a company obligated to pay gratuity to workers based outside of the UAE?

Dear Sir/Madam,

We have remote workers based outside of the UAE. They abide by a contract with us, but not under the company's visa.

As per UAE labor law, are we obliged to pay gratuity to them, if nothing was specified in the offer letter or contract?

Dear questioner,

They are entitled if it is mentioned in the contract that the governing law is the law of the Emirates, whereby every worker who has completed a year is entitled to an end-of-service reward determined according to the basis of his salary.
