Entering Dubai again after leaving without cancellation of visa

Hi there,

I used to work in Dubai and left with the view to go back but moved to London instead. I still had a credit card in Dubai, but I have since paid this off and the case has been closed. I didn't cancel my visa but it has expired.

I would like to visit Dubai for a holiday and I was wondering if I still need to cancel my residency visa before returning? Am I able to do this from the UK? My old employer hasn't taken any action against me.

Thanks in advance

Karen

Dear Karen,

Thank you for getting in touch with me on this.

Please note that your visa has automatically been cancelled since you were out of the country for more than 6 months. You may apply for a tourist/employment visa from the UK.

There is no need to formally cancel the visa as it automatically stands cancelled.

You may get in touch with me if any issue comes up.

Regards,

Hari Wadhwana

So I am ok to travel to Dubai and just enter as normal?

I had a friend refused entry a few years ago after his employer didn't cancel his expired visa. I just don't want to travel all that way to be denied entry

Thanks for your prompt reply,

Karen
