Required documents for travel ban checking
Hi,
Are you able to make an immigration ban check without power of attorney in the first instance for a fee?
Many thanks
Dear Questioner,
Please note that legal consultants in the UAE are not allowed to legally represent anyone without having a duly attested power of attorney for this representation.
Also, the Police Department and any other public office are not going to accept any unauthorized legal consultant or any such random person to perform such checking - at least in a legal manner - to release such confidential and crucial info about someone.
So, the Power of Attorney is always required.
If you are inside the UAE, you are safe to go to the Notary Public to notarize such a POA.
In case you do not speak or read Arabic you will have to get a stamp of a legal translator confirming that the Arabic text reflects the same translation into English which is the language that you should be able to speak and read fluently.
If you are outside the UAE, you can go to a Notary Public wherever you are, Notarize the POA and get it attested by the UAE Embassy abroad.
In case you reside in a country that has no UAE Embassy, then you can attest the POA from any neighbouring country like Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, or Bahrain.
