Civil case jurisdiction for a bounced cheque

I have filed a civil case against a person in Dubai court for bounced cheques and have presented all the cheques as evidence.

I have an agreement too which says that the agreements between the two parties are binded by DIFC law.

My Question is, do I need to file a case in DIFC court or I can continue it in Dubai court?

What are the fees and procedure for DIFC court?

I am also looking for a lawyer to help us in this process and would like to meet in person.

As understood from your question, there is a cheque bounce case pending/decided, and you have filed the civil case on the same subject matter. Whereas , there is a DIFC jurisdiction under the agreement.

Advice: please meet us with documents to advise you over the matter appropriately.

Dear Sir,

I hope my mail finds you well.

Please be informed that if the agreement provides for the DIFC as the dispute resolving jurisdiction, then in such case you cannot go ahead with Dubai Courts.

For more clarity on the above, we need to review the terms of the agreement, maybe there is a way out.

For more consultation, you can visit our office which is located in Bay Square, Business Bay.

You can call us at 045547635 for fixing a meeting schedule, or, you can send the agreement at info@awsuwaidi-advocates.com
