Filing a civil case to recover the amount of a bounced cheque

Hello,

I received a company cheque from an individual who owed me money (between AED 10,000 & 20,000). The cheque bounced and I wish to file a civil case.

A criminal case has already been registered. Can anyone advise me about the steps to register a civil case?

Also, can someone highlight what happens in court during a civil proceeding?

In a criminal case, you will not get the money. The other guy can convert it into a fine and finish the case.
