Someone has issued a work permit or a labor card using my details. What to do?

Q: Dear Concern, This is an absurd issue I need help with. Someone has issued a work permit or a labor card using my details (passport information) without my consent. When I attempted to apply for my first-ever employment visa, the system indicated that I already have a work permit or labor card with another company. Tasheel provided me with the labor information and a company name that I am unfamiliar with. How should I proceed and get assistance from the authority in this matter? Please note that I have never applied for employment in the UAE before.

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My friends and I were caught at home by the CID with a small amount of weed after one of my friends deposited funds in an account to purchase cannabis at the end of 2023. We were released after 24 hours with a case number, but we still haven’t spoken to anyone, and we don’t know what the next step is.

I bought a second-hand car with hidden defects and the dealer failed to fix it. What can I do?

Q: Hi Sir, I bought a second-hand car from a reputed dealer in Dubai On April 18, 2024. After four days of ownership, I realized the car was jittering/vibrating/ hesitating to maintain at a particular speed. I immediately informed the car dealer and they promised to fix it the first time but when I got the car after rectifying and repairing it, it had the same issue. Again I informed the car dealer about it and they took the car again for a spark plug change and took three and a half days to repair it. Once I got the car back I realized the same issue was still there. Now for the third time, I informed them and they are asking me to come again for repair/inspection purposes. I asked them to share the pre-inspection report as they claim they have a 150-point check-up but they have not shared the report to date. The car is under warranty for a year. Please advise what should I do in this case as I’m worried that the car may have some hidden problem which in future may cost me money. Thanks and Regards J. S,

Can the landlord send an eviction notice by email if I refused rent increase?

Q: My rent contract ends on 9/8/2024. I contacted the landlord for renewal and he asked to increase the rent. He didn’t send any notice for an increase before 90 days, so I declined the requested increase. He called and said I should accept the increase or I have to leave. One day later, yesterday, he sent me (email) a notice to evict the apartment for selling, and he wrote he would provide a partial contract until 28 May 2025. Since I asked before in an email to share a copy of his EID, he used the same email subject to share the eviction notice. Can he do that before the contract renewal? He was willing to renew with higher rent and when I refused, he came with an eviction notice. What if pretends to sell it but doesn’t sell (shifts the ownership to wife)? How to check if it`s sold? Can he send the eviction notice through email or should be through registered mail? If emails are accepted, can he send them under another email subject (subject used: a copy of EID or passport)? What should I do next? Thanks

When I checked the fine on the labor card, it was 400 AED. I have informed the PRO and the employer about this problem several times, but they are ignoring it. I am now considering resignation with a notice period according to protocols. Is this 400 AED fine on me or them? Please guide me!

I was deported because of old TB scars on my lung. How can I lift the ban?

Q: Hi Sir, How Are You? I am from India and I am a salesman at XYZ Shop In Sharjah. After completing 2 months, I went for a medical test my blood test was good but in the X-ray, they found a little scar on my left lung. They transferred my medical report to (EHS) where I met a doctor who told me that I had TB. But I don`t know when I had this disease, maybe in childhood. Then I went for a gold TB test at a medical center where I met a TB specialist. After completing my sputum or blood test for 3-4 days, my test came negative. So I collected all my reports and also a request letter from the doctor about my health, but they did not see my report and deported me. I`m really worried that I cannot come to the UAE for my entire life not only on a resident visa but also tourist or visit visa. Please can you help me? Is there any legal process that I can lift my ban for at least a tourist visa?
