Q: Good day! I have registered a court case through Al Adheed regarding 7 months of unpaid salaries. I submitted a resignation letter after my complaint, and they allowed me to submit the document in Arabic translation. In my resignation, I stated that I wanted to claim my end-of-service benefits, salaries, and unused annual leave. I had my first hearing today with the judge and was told to wait for the judgment tomorrow. Is it possible for me to amend my claim, as I only mentioned my salaries in the complaint? Can the victims’ families claim blood money from the insurance company of an intoxicated driver?
Q: Hello, A man was driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol in Dubai and made a sudden overtake, causing a motorbike rider to lose control and hit a streetlight, resulting in the deaths of both the rider and the passenger. The driver fled the scene and has now been sentenced to 1 year in jail and ordered to pay blood money of 200K per person by the court. Can this blood money be claimed from the driver’s insurance company, as he had third-party insurance, or does the insurance not hold liability under the law when the driver is proven to be under the influence of alcohol? Eviction notice for maintenance 6 months ago—can I still request supporting documents?
Q: Dear Lawyers, I received an official eviction notice six months ago stating that I need to leave the property in 12 months due to "maintenance" reasons. However, I haven`t received any supporting documents, such as a maintenance report. Is it too late to request those documents, or should I still ask for them? I suspect the landlord wants to evict me in order to re-rent the apartment at a higher price, as there doesn’t seem to be much that needs renovation. If no supporting documents are provided, can I still remain in the apartment? Additionally, can I file a complaint six months after receiving the eviction notice? Thank you for your support!

Is it possible to hold a general manager responsible personally for a company debt?
Q: I am being pursued for a debt of 290,000 dirhams in the UAE by twofour54, the media free zone in Abu Dhabi. The debt is historic, 10 years old, and it is a company debt, not a personal one. I am a UK citizen currently visiting Dubai and wish to contest the disputed amount. I was the general manager, so I’m unclear why I am being pursued personally. Can a settlement be negotiated? Q: I am seeking legal advice regarding a financial and emotional scam perpetrated by a close friend. She borrowed money from me, promising to return it but later claimed she could not. How to get paid by the court after seizing the amount of the judgment from the employer?
Q: Dear Lawyers, Kindly assist please, 1. I got a favorable judgment against my employer after completing my contract without renewal. I executed and they refused to pay after Dubai Court served them notice. I made the block request which was confirmed by Al Adheed, however, the company still won’t pay (But the company pays workers` salaries in between which I can confirm). I saw an update through my account page on the court website that one of their bank accounts has the executed amount and the bank has reserved it. I just want to know how long it will take for the Court to collect the amount from the bank and pay me or if there is another process I have to take. Note- It`s been 3 months and 1 week from the Case registration date to Execution Court. 2. Also The company canceled my visa, however, I am hoping to exit the country within the amnesty grace period if I can’t get an employment offer for a new visa.
