I paid a a booking fee for a real estate company to rent a warehouse and did not work. How to get the fee back?
Q: Hi, I paid 10% (booking fee) to a real estate company for renting a warehouse compound in Dubai. We had a verbal and written agreement (via invoice) that if the deal didn’t go through, they would refund the full 10% booking fee. The landlord took a lot of time and the deal didn’t go through, now one of the real estate agents is saying his partner is a scammer (2 owners). He says he always does this and does not refund clients` booking amounts. Right now, one partner says he will refund the money but it’s been a month since I asked for the money back. He is always telling stories. However, he gave me a personal cheque of around 60k saying this was a guarantee cheque. However, he didn’t have any money in it so asked me not to deposit it. I really need my money back. How to proceed with this? Should I go to RERA or the police to help me get my money back asap? Kindly assist. Thank you

Q: I am a Canadian citizen. My ex-wife is also a Canadian citizen and she lives in Kuwait. The court in Kuwait issued a verdict regarding child support. I currently reside in the UAE. I would like to know whether she can transfer the case to the UAE jurisdiction or if the current ruling in Kuwait would apply only to Kuwait. Thank you for your assistance.

Should I appeal my court decision after winning compensation for my landlord's unjust eviction?
Q: Dear Lawyers, I won a court case against my previous landlord because his notary told me that he wanted to sell the property, so I had to move out. He has since re-rented it for a much higher amount. My rent was 72k, and the landlord re-rented it for 100k. The court decided that I would receive a 30k compensation. Before filing the court case, I read in a forum that the penalty payment should be equivalent to a year`s rent. Should I file an appeal against the court`s decision, or is it sufficient?

Q: I paid my landlord in cash 10 days in advance and he still deposited my rent cheque. My perfect AECB score maintained for 9 years is ruined. How can AECB be reversed and compensated if AECB cannot be corrected? The cheque value is AED 16,250 and I have sufficient evidence + receipt from the landlord.+3

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I was scammed by a car rental company that has not refunded my deposit for the past month. I believe they are fraudulents. Today, out of frustration, we had a heated argument on the phone, followed by verbal abuse during the next call. He claimed to have recorded it and said he would file a case. I want to know what the chances of a case are in this situation and what I should do. They are scammers for sure, but I’m concerned because he said he recorded the call and will raise a verbal abuse complaint.

Q: Hello, I am Christian and married to a Christian wife under Christian law in India (we are residents of the UAE). My wife has filed a case with the Personal Status Court for a travel ban to prevent my daughter from traveling with me. After three months, they fired me, citing the reason in my termination letter that they are closing their online platform. This claim is absolutely false, as the platform is still operational in the UAE. It feels completely unjust despite my hard work and proven sales record, once their platform was established, they simply terminated me. After my termination, they gave me an additional 30 days to find another job, stating they would not cancel my visa during this time, apart from the standard 14-day notice period. I recently spoke to a friend who was also terminated under similar circumstances. The company refused to pay him for no valid reason and deducted money from his dues as fines or penalties.+1
