My brother had a heart attack and was treated at a hospital. Can the insurance refuse to cover costs?
Q: My brother had a heart attack two weeks ago, and the ambulance took him to the nearest hospital, where the staff and doctors provided excellent care. Unfortunately, the hospital was not covered by his insurance. After an emergency procedure, they inserted a stent, and he was discharged four days later, with a referral to a hospital that was covered by his insurance. When we arrived at the referred hospital, the doctor wanted to insert additional stents, as mentioned in the discharge documents. However, the hospital applied for insurance approval, and the insurance provider rejected the request. When we contacted the insurance company, they insisted that he travel back home to continue his treatment. However, he is unable to travel due to his condition. Kindly assist with this matter.

A buyer is delaying the property purchase. Can I take legal action through DIFC Court?
Q: Hello, My buyer keeps delaying the purchase of my property. First, he took 2 weeks to register the DEWA. Then he delayed the handover until the 14th of April. On the 12th of April, he disclosed that he was selling his own apartment and would have the money by the 16th or 17th of April. Now he wants an extension on the MOU, which expires on the 20th of April. He has shown me bank cheques from his buyer, but he won`t let me cash the 10% deposit and wants to give a new cheque dated 30th April for the full handover. In that time, I`ve paid for an NOC (1,050 AED), NOC renewal (525 AED), bank liability letter (65 AED), and service charges (2,600 AED). If the sale doesn`t complete by the 23rd of April, I`ll have to pay another 1,050 AED NOC charge and 65 AED for a new bank liability letter. My buyer doesn’t have the money for a non-refundable deposit. I asked for a deposit now to extend the MOU. How can I take him to court in DIFC, and what are the fees involved to get the deposit?

Q: Hello. My company has filed a case against a client for failure to pay and a bounced cheque. The client`s company is registered as a virtual office in the Creative City Free Zone in Fujairah, so our case is filed there. The client basically purchased some equipment from us, and his payment via bank transfer did not go through and was rejected. Then, when we deposited his security cheque after multiple attempts to contact and no answer, the cheque bounced. The company is under his wife`s name, and we have filed a case on the same. The court has accepted our application, however, they have instructed the execution bureau to get the Emirates ID of this authorised signatory. The bureau is asking us to get it, and we have no way to do so, unfortunately. Without the Emirates ID, the court cannot freeze the bank accounts or put a travel ban, etc. What are our options here?+3
