How to claim damages from a car repair shop after my car stopped after maintenance at their shop?
Q: I have a dispute with a car repair shop. After car maintenance in their shop, I started to suffer problems with the gearbox, until the car stopped. After the gearbox inspection, water was found mixed with gearbox oil. Water presence should be impossible by design. I claim a maintenance mistake during their job whilst they are defending themselves by claiming possible car misuse. Car risk to be totaled by possible less than adequate maintenance. I need legal advice.

Can I stay in my husband's rented home during our pending divorce appeal?
Q: Hello, My husband and I (both Hindu) are undergoing a divorce in Dubai. The execution is pending as I have filed an appeal. The divorce was filed by my husband. When he filed for divorce, he made me and my kids (twin boys) move to a different accommodation. He lives separately. After the court orders on divorce and maintenance in December 2024, he stopped paying rent for the accommodation. The execution is yet to be issued, and he has not started providing any money for maintenance. Do I have to leave this accommodation if the agreement is in his name? If I don’t have the money to arrange for alternative accommodation until the execution is finalized, how should I manage? Please guide!

Q: Hello, If your employer’s behavior is causing you to resign, could this be considered constructive dismissal? My employer has been illegally deducting from my commission check. When I confronted him, he wrote down various overhead costs to run the practice, costs that, as an employee, I am not responsible for, along with profit-sharing deductions that were never agreed upon in my job offer or contract. He told me that if I couldn’t accept these terms, I would need to find another clinic to work at. He then created a new contract including all these deductions, which I refused to sign. His manager later tried to force me to sign it, but I did not. I felt very threatened and bullied, so I filed a labor complaint, which was transferred to court. However, I currently lack the funds to proceed due to their actions. If I file another labor complaint later and they ask why I no longer work there, can I use constructive dismissal as the reason?+1

Can I claim my labor dues from a closed company through bounced cheques in 2018?
Q: Hello I was employed by a company in 2017 that failed to pay my salary. Since I urgently needed a new job to manage my expenses, the management gave me three cheques amounting to roughly 45,000. I signed the final settlement, which states that the remaining amount will be paid in cheques. Prior to me cashing the cheques, they had paid roughly 6,000 in cash. Since it`s been a long time, I cannot locate the payment slip. Since they failed to pay the rest of the amount, I went ahead to cash the cheques and they bounced. I then registered a case with the Dubai police in April 2018. It`s been nearly 7 years and the status on the Dubai Police site shows as "Awaiting approval/Bank reply". I have the following questions: 1. Is there any way to recover this amount? 2. What is the best option to pursue? Civil case or a labor case with the free zone? However, the company no longer exists as far as I know, how does it work? 3. What does the status awaiting approval/bank reply mean?
