Q: Dear Team, I have an issue with my credit card, which was issued in 2013 and I used the same till 2018, all the payments had done on time. Unfortunately, last time in 2018, I was troubled by a financial crisis. Due to the same, I had some amount pending on my credit card, and in 2018, I went to my home country as I lost my job. Q: Hello, My brother was arrested in February for possession of 4/5 grams of a drug. He was charged with possession of narcotic substances stipulated in Tables No. 1 and 4, Section 1, which is more than 100 grams in Dubai. He is not selling the drug, but I found out that he uses heroin. Yesterday was his first hearing, and he was sentenced to a fine of AED 5,000 and deportation. What happens to the rent increase and eviction notice upon selling the property to a new owner?
Q: I am a tenant in a villa. The landlord wants to sell the property to a new owner who wants to move in. My rental agreement is till August 15, which means my 90-day increase notice is due on May 15. Three parts to this question: 1. If the current owner serves me a 12-month notice, can the new owners still increase my rent? 2. If the current owner doesn`t accept my counter-offer for the rental increase that he served before the notice (My offer is in line with the RERA calculations, but his is not), can he legally increase my rent if I get an eviction notice? 3. Q: Hello, I need legal advice regarding a divorce attorney. I gave all the evidence for the physical abuse and infidelity. The lawyer didn’t include any evidence in the memo even though we agreed that she will. I did get divorced but didn’t get children alimony. I have the right to two appeals. My lawyer is asking to do the full payment for their service before the appeal or she is not going to do the appeal. What are my rights in this case? Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My company is registered in DMCC Dubai. On May 2, 2023, my HR emailed me in the evening to relieve me of my duties on May 4, 2023, which is against the UAE labor law because a minimum of 14 days` notice period is mandatory from either party during probation. On May 4, 2023, I was forcibly relieved of my job. The next day, I emailed HR to address the legal provisions. On May 8, 2023, I received an email from HR to report to the firm on May 9, 2023, and serve the remaining notice period of 11 days. Q: We had an arrest warrant against our company owner for unpaid office rent in Dubai. As per the court order, they evicted us, sold our assets, claimed AED 95000, and requested an arrest warrant.
