A company failed to deliver the promised freelance visa. How can I get a refund?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I paid money to a documents clearing company in Dubai to process a freelance visa for me. After receiving payment, they kept delaying and didn`t even start the process. Doubting their intentions, I have demanded a refund of my payment, which they are now delaying as well. They keep promising they will do it in a day or two but are not keeping their word. I have payment proof in the form of an invoice issued by them and proof of the refund request in a WhatsApp conversation, where they repeatedly say they will do it but have not followed through. Q: Dear Sir/Madam, In terms of sending notice to tenants to vacate an apartment, as a landlord, we need to send a 12-month notice with the reason being either: - Wanting to move in ourselves (or our family members). - Selling the unit But what if, as landlords, after evacuation and a few days of evaluating the market or finding no customers to buy our property, we change our minds and want to rent the apartment again to someone else? Q: I took a friendly loan amounting to 3000 from my friend 3 years back, which I paid back a few days ago in cash as he was a friend. Can an employer deduct visa charges from salary before resignation?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I resigned from my position after working for 6 months (limited contract) because I was not satisfied and the company was not providing the basic conditions of employment. The accommodation was not provided as stipulated in the contract, transportation to and from work was not provided, medical insurance was not provided, and my salary was always paid in installments. I submitted my resignation to serve a one-month notice period, but the company refused to allow me to serve the notice period and instead demanded that I resign immediately. I have requested that my visa be canceled and my passport be returned to me (which has been in their possession), but they are asking me to pay for the visa costs. Is it legal for them to deduct the visa charges from my salary that I earned before resigning? Appreciate your response in this matter!
