I left the UAE with a partly unpaid load and negotiations failed with the collectors. Can I travel to GCC?
Q: Hello, I have had an outstanding loan in the UAE since 2016 and left the UAE. I was in negotiations with several debt collectors. I paid a part back but there is still a part open. I am willing to pay the loan back or let`s say a waived part of it. But the way of communication with the debt collectors was very unprofessional. From now on, I have to fly to some GCC countries like Saudi Arabia or Qatar. Is there any problem or better not to do it as long the case is open?

How can I claim my labor rights after being forced to resign if I left the UAE?
Q: I worked as a Graphic Designer at a document-clearing service provider company three months ago. During my employment, I was not paid for more than a month. When I inquired about the payment, my employer shouted at me and canceled my work permit on the same day without any notice. Additionally, she sent a fake email from my official email account to herself apologizing for some unlawful act. She called me to come and sort out my remaining dues, but instead, she misguided me to physically resign, which was a big mistake on my part as an employee. Now, I would like to know what documentary evidence is required to file a complaint. I look forward to your prompt response. I have all emails and other correspondences except the resignation copy I submitted physically. Is it possible to complain while outside the UAE because as per policy, I had to exit the UAE in order to change my status? I also kept snapshots of WhatsApp when she was harassing me.

We are late for rent in a hotel apartment. Is it legal to deposit a cheque for a higher value?
Q: We live in a hotel apartment in Bur Dubai which is closing down on March 31, 2023. We have always paid our rent on time. However, we have dues of AED 22147.27 as of the date and they have an undated cheque of AED 28936 with them from us. We promised them we will clear the dues between the 15th and 18th of this month, maximum by the 20th, and leave. They are insisting on depositing the cheque by this evening even though for a higher amount and threatening further action. Our questions: 1. Can they deposit a higher value cheque when the dues are much lesser? 2. What is the action open to them - can they evict us and if so, how soon? 3. We will clear the dues between the 15th and 18th, maximum by March 20, 2023, and they are not listening to the same. If we clear these dues and give our commitment in writing, can they still enforce action today/tomorrow? Kindly advise.

س: السلام عليكم، عند تقديم إخطار ترك العمل مع احترام فترة الإخطار المذكورة في العقد وهي شهرين، هل أذكر أسباب ترك العمل في الإخطار أم لا؟ وهل يحق للشركة أن تطالبني بحقوق في حالة تقديم هذا الإخطار للموافقة عليه؟ هل يجوز للشركة إصدار حرمان لي من دخول الدولة؟ شكرًا لحضرتك!

Dismissed labor case due to absence: How to re-register it?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I registered a labor case on February 22, 2023, and paid the court fees. However, I have not received any communication from Dubai Courts since then. On March 9 at 10:22 PM, I received an email from the Dubai Court stating that the case had been dismissed because the plaintiff (me) had not appeared. Can a new landlord enforce a notice to vacate given by the previous landlord?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My previous landlord in Dubai had given me a 12-month notarized notice to vacate the property as he intended to sell it. However, the property was sold within 3 months and the new landlord is now trying to enforce the previous notice. Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My debt was settled with the bankers in 2017. My colleague was checking in at a police station in Dubai and my record is clear; that being said, there is no ban. However, another PRO has said that I have a lifetime ban and must pay a sum of 40,000 Dhs to lift the ban.
