Q: Dear Questioner, What is the punishment for a losing party in a civil case? I want to file a civil case. However, if I do so and I receive a judgment in my favor, will there be any consequences for the other party besides a travel ban? Should I just avoid pursuing a civil case and forget about my rights?

Q: Does the debit card transaction not require any OTP authorization? What is the threshold for transactions? For high value say above AED 1000, there must be OTP, right? What do UAE government rules say? The bank is not supporting the fraudulent transaction of AED 15000 (debit card) reported and simply buying the time. Q: I had a credit card unpaid for a few months. The total payable is 23000 (twenty-three thousand) and the bank filed a case in court. How can I get money invested in a company after I got cheated by my partner?

Can the payee of a cheque use a photo of a cheque I sent a picture of it on WhatsApp?
Q: Greetings, I shared a photo of a cheque with the payee for verification purposes only, not for deposit. Our WhatsApp communication has been clear on this. I recently found out that it may be possible to encash a cheque using a photo or printout instead of the original cheque… Now, I worry the person may actually deposit the cheque using the photo I shared. Is this possible or plausible, would this be a fraud? Should I preemptively block the cheque? The jurisdiction is Dubai. I still have the physical cheque in my possession. Can the company claim compensation from me if they terminate me during probation?
Q: Hello sir I am a 51-year-old expatriate. I have joined a company in Dubai under a limited contract and it’s been 4 months since my contract was signed. As it seems the company is not satisfied with my performance, they have told me verbally that they don’t need my services anymore. So I would like to check whether I may have to pay any compensation to the company for the visa expenses.
