Is it possible to cancel my visa and get a new visa if I am involved in a case and a travel ban?
Dear Sir/Madam,
I have been involved in a criminal case since July 2024 and am currently under a travel ban.
I got the judgment and penalty of 3700 which I paid but the prosecutor filed an appeal.
Last week, my employer terminated me and initiated the process of canceling my visa.
Is it possible to cancel my visa while I am still involved in a case and have a travel ban?
Is it possible to apply for a new residence visa while my case is ongoing?
Thank you!

The cancellation of your visa is an administrative process that is separate from the travel ban.
It is generally not possible to apply for a new residence visa while a criminal case is ongoing and a travel ban is in place.
The resolution of the case (including the appeal) is necessary to remove the travel ban and proceed with visa applications.

Employers in the UAE have the right to cancel an employee's visa upon termination of employment.
However, the ability to finalize this cancellation while a criminal case and travel ban are in effect can be complicated.
The immigration authorities will be aware of the ongoing legal proceedings. So, there can be chances of rejection in such cases.
In the case of a new residence visa, the same will be applicable. There are certain procedures that you have to undertake in order to get approval.
We will let you know them in detail. Kindly share your WhatsApp number to discuss this further.

Immigration authorities usually require clearance before proceeding with cancellation.
New Residence Visa: Generally, obtaining a new residence visa while involved in an ongoing criminal case and under a travel ban can be challenging.
The pending appeal may impact your eligibility for a new visa until the matter is resolved.
