I was arrested at the airport when I arrived on a tourist visa for a previous debt. Can I settle and get a work visa?

I'm currently on a tourist visa. When I arrived at the Immigration, I was sent to the police station, and from there they told me to go to Dubai Courts to settle the issue.

I went to DC, requested the settlement, and am still awaiting the answer. As per the DC, I have a travel ban.

Will I be able to get a work visa if the case is still open?

Thank you in advance.

According to UAE law, if you have a travel ban due to an open case in court, it may be difficult to obtain a work visa until the issue is resolved and the ban is lifted.

You will need to settle the case, either by paying fines or complying with the judgment, before you can apply for a new work visa.

There will be some complexities to get the visa processed if there is an active travel ban against you.

So, it is possible to submit some request to the court for getting an exception to process your visa.

So, this travel ban will not affect the completion of your visa procedures.

We will let you know the procedures in detail. Kindly share your WhatsApp number to discuss this further.

Hello,

You must first resolve the travel ban issue before you can apply for a working visa.

Immigration and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) would typically check for any outstanding travel bans before issuing a work visa.

A pending case could prevent the issuance of a new visa until the matter is settled.

For further assistance, kindly share your Whatsapp number.

Dear Client,

Thanks for your question!

I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.

While your case is still open and you have a travel ban, obtaining a working visa in the UAE is unlikely.

You should wait for the Dubai Court's response to resolve your legal issues first.

Working on a tourist visa is illegal and can lead to serious consequences. Once the travel ban is lifted and all matters are settled, you can apply for a work visa.

Thanks & Regards,

ABDUL WAHIED
