Amendments to the Law No. (23) of 1991 On the Regulation of the Legal Profession

I have read somewhere that Federal Law No.23 (1991) regulating the legal profession has been superseded by Federal Law No.3 (2012) regulating the legal profession and Decree 666 (2015) regulating the legal profession. However, I cannot find these newer laws on this website.

Would a knowledgeable lawyer confirm this and explain how the articles covering conflict of interest between lawyer and client have changed? In particular how article 40 of Fed Law No.23 (1991) has been amended.

Dear,

The amendment is under Federal Law No. 10 of 2014 and not Federal Law No.3 (2012). You may review and find the relevant answer to your query. The intention of the law is same. For example, Article 8 of the amended law provides :

"The process server shall make sure that the person to which the notice is served is at least 18 years old and that neither such person nor the person represented thereby have an apparent conflict of interests with the addressee."

Thank you,

I just perused Law No.10 of 2014 but I cannot find any indication that it amends Law No.23 of 1991. Rather it seems to amend Federal Law No. (11) of 1992. I also don't see any articles in this Law No.10 of 2014 pertaining to the "Rights and Obligations of Lawyers" which is the section of Law No.23 of 1991 that I am interested to see in its amended form.

What exactly are Federal Law No.3 of 2012 and MoJ Decree No.666 of 2015 if they are not amendments to Law No.23 of 1991 regulating the legal profession?

The law is not always amended as a whole but certain Articles are amended.
