Does my 6-month suspended prison sentence mean I will serve it if I return to the UAE?

Dear Sir/Madam,

My 6-month prison sentence is suspended for 3 years.

Does this mean that when I return to the UAE after 3 years, I will have to serve 6 months in prison?

Thanks!

Dear Questioner,

If your prison sentence has been reserved for a period of 3 years, it means that the enforcement of the sentence has been delayed or suspended for that duration.

During this period, you are not required to serve a prison sentence.

After the expiration of the 3-year period, if you return to the UAE and the reserved prison sentence is still valid, you may be required to serve the remainder of the sentence, which in your case is 6 months.

However, it's essential to consult with legal experts or authorities familiar with your specific case and the laws of the UAE to understand the implications of the reserved sentence and any conditions or requirements associated with it.

They can provide you with accurate and up-to-date information regarding your situation and any potential legal obligations upon your return to the UAE.

Ma'am, I got deported. Does this mean that the deportation is also for 3 years?

Deportation orders in the UAE can vary in duration depending on the specific circumstances of the case and the decisions made by the authorities.

In some cases, deportation orders may have a specified duration, such as three years, after which the individual may be eligible to apply for re-entry into the country.

However, deportation orders can also be permanent or indefinite in some cases, particularly for serious offenses or violations of immigration laws.

If you have been deported from the UAE and your deportation order specifies a duration of three years, it means that you are prohibited from re-entering the country for that period.

After the expiration of the deportation period, you may be eligible to apply for re-entry into the UAE, but it's essential to consult with legal experts or immigration authorities for guidance on the specific conditions and requirements for re-entry, as well as any potential implications of the deportation order on your immigration status or future travel plans.

Hello dear questioner,

Do you mean that you were sentenced to six months, then you left the country and the sentence was not implemented, and you have now been outside the country for three years?

21 May 2024, 09:22

Sir, I was deported and my 6-month prison sentence was suspended for 3 years.

So, I want to ask, is my deportation also for 3 years?

21 May 2024, 09:50

Judicial deportation does not have a specific period, and as long as the deportation is issued according to a judicial ruling, that deportation will not be removed except after submitting a request to the competent authority to lift the deportation.

Dear Questioner,

If the penalty is imprisonment for a period of (6) months, with the execution of the penalty suspended for a period of (3) years, this means that if you commit a similar crime within (3) years, the first penalty will be applied to you in addition to the penalty for the second crime.
