If my father doesn't cancel my visa when switching to company's sponsorship, what to do?
Hi,
I'm under my father’s sponsorship, but due to some issues, I've moved out of my house. I want to shift to my company’s visa sponsorship, and the visa under my father’s sponsorship expires on July 23rd.
Is there anything I can do if he doesn't cancel my visa by or before then?
Dear Questioner,
Thanks for your inquiry!
Regarding the above, we would like to inform you that, according to UAE law, your father is responsible for canceling your visa if you are under his sponsorship.
If he does not cancel your visa by the expiration date, you can approach the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) to request the cancellation of your visa.
You will need to provide proof that you are no longer living with your father, such as a tenancy contract or a letter from your employer stating that you are living independently.
The GDRFA will then cancel your visa and you can proceed with transferring your sponsorship to your company.
It is important to note that your father may face penalties for not canceling your visa on time, so it is best to try and resolve the issue with him before involving the authorities.
Kindly feel free to contact us via phone or email for further inquiries.
Greetings,
Hello,
You can approach the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE) to register a complaint regarding the situation after informing your father.
They will approach the sponsor to facilitate the cancellation.
If you need any assistance, please share your WhatsApp number to proceed.
