Checking status for resigning while on vacation with a pending loan
Hi,
I hope you can help me with this.
Last November 2016 I went on vacation for a month but my father got sick and I didn't come back.
I sent a resignation letter to my manager but never heard a reply from him. My visa expired last March 2017. Now, I am planning to be back in Dubai.
How can I check if there is any police case that was filed against me because I have left a loan from my company? I have no longer contact with them.

Staying more than six months out of the UAE will automatically cancel residency visas, No one can stay outside the country more than six months then try to enter the country without a valid residency visa.
Therefore, you do not have to come all the way to cancel your visa as it is automatically cancelled if you stayed outside the UAE for more than 6 months.
Absconding case: If you left the country without complying with the employment cancellation procedure like service during the notice period and visa cancellation, then your employer will have no choice but to report you as absconding and you will be banned for life.
I'm sure for the loan too, the Bank must have filed a case and imposed a ban. This means you will be arrested when you arrive.
You can try to get a police clearance certificate (PCC) to check if you have clearance or not.
A police clearance certificate (PCC) is a proof of your good conduct. It is available for applicants who are currently residing in the UAE and also for those who are no longer residing in the UAE.
You can:
- Apply for clear criminal record certificate – Ministry of Interior
- Apply for good conduct certificate from Abu Dhabi Police – Abu Dhabi Government portal
- Apply for police clearance certificate in Dubai- Dubai Police
