Having an employment contract and receiving a salary while being a partner
Hello,
My husband and I registered a company in a Free Zone in the UAE. In the company, there are only two shareholders, him and me.
I am a resident on a partner visa, and he is not. So, I would like to ask if it is possible to have an employment contract and receive a salary, as I perform multiple roles in the company.
Thank you in advance!
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.
Yes, you can have an employment contract and receive a salary for your roles in the company, even if you are one of the shareholders.
Many free zones in the UAE allow shareholders to work in the companies they own and receive a salary for their services.

Yes, it is possible, however, there are a few things you need to keep in mind in order to ensure that your employment contract is valid and enforceable.
First, you need to make sure that the employment contract is in writing and that it is signed by both you and your husband.
Second, the employment contract must specify your salary, your duties and responsibilities, and any other relevant terms and conditions of your employment.

Yes, a partner can be an employee and receive a salary for his/her role. There are no such restrictions.
